I am probably like most guys out there. I have always had short hair, but have always wanted long hair. I have several times started to let it grow for about 4-6 months and have not been able to stick it out and cut it short again. Has this been a common thing for all of you longhairs and if so what if anything helped you push through?
I'm also a newbie here, but with me it was the other way around: I did NOT want long hair, but a woman convinced me of growing it, hehehe.
Maybe you should find a girl who'll tell you how hot you would look with long hair 8D
Oh, yeah. Just like that for me.
Q: What helps me to start puching through it?
A: THIS BOARD and the support I get from the regulars here.
Welcome aboard. Push through! You can do it!

It's an extremely common thing to give in and cut your hair after a while. I'm on my second attempt now. I had it cut to my usual short style in December 2005 after 3 months of growing. I then had it trimmed in February 2006. Then, I found this site and read as much as I could about growing hair out and taking care of it (like not getting trims in awkward stage). That is how I am overcoming the "awkward stage".
So, just browse this site whenever you feel like it, and you will feel a lot better about growing your hair.

I don't post here often, but I'll tell you what helped me reach my currently collarbone-length hair. Wearing a cap and not thinking about it. Believe me when I say that things will get much worse before they get better.
Growing out my hair was a spontaneous thing, in a way. I'd always wanted long hair since I was a kid (but was always prohibited), and one day while sitting at the computer I just decided to start growing. Haven't looked back since. :) There have been tough times, but I think if you grin and bear it you'll push through.
