I'll make another one incase you won't see the old post.
Maybe i'll keep my hair, but what if i dye my hair blonde, so that it matches my own haircolour better, that way i won't have to cut all of my hair to get back my real colour, my sister proposed that, as there is blonde haircolour wich is more gentle than bleaching.
The only thing i want right now is that all of my hair is the same colour, so that i don't need to dye it dark everytime my own hair grows back.
I hope you can suggest something that will work for me:)
Simon
I fear that you have a stark choice which only you can make:
If you REALLY only want it a single colour and do not want to wait for that to grow out as suggested in your earlier thread on this subject then you must
Either dye it blond for ever with the attendant damage that will imply or
Forgive me for using the word 'shave' it off - suggest with a razor and truly start afresh.
I could not recommend the second or really the first I would let it grow out and take care of it in maintenance trims but the choice has to be yours. Good luck whichever way you opt.
Hi,
May I suggest that, since your original hair color is blonde, you could proceed with what you have in mind (just be sure that the hair dye is mild).
Let your hair grow and after a few years down the road, if you notice considerable damage in your dyed ends (which will probably be so), you can then trim it while still maintaining longish hair.

Hi Simon,
I know for sure that there is a substance or a treatment package called "dye extractor" or something like that - and it is NOT bleach. It only extracts the artificial dye so that the natural hair color becomes visible again. It does not seem to be a bleaching agent.
In the US, I have seen it on the shelves of drug stores. In Europe, it may only be available through hair stylists or through stores that sell chemicals to hair stylists. If you get it from a hair stylists, they will tell you that your hair MUST be trimmed after such a treatment. This is NOT true - if theys insist, you say, "O.k., but I DON't get that done during today's session, how about an appointment for tomorrow morning instead. Just put some good leave-in conditioner into my hair today." - Once you are gone, you call in to cancel that "tomorrow morning"-'s session and get some extra time to reflect and think.
To my knowledge, there is even some "hair wisdom" to that: If you want to trim hair after harsh chemical treatment, give your hair some time to harden up again before you trim the ends (Bruce Gallagher, please correct me, if I'm wrong).
As I said, I'd NOT start from the scratch.
Whatever you do, all the best!
Hans-Uwe
P.S.: If "Google" does not give you the right results, try "clusty.com" instead. "clusty" does not have that evil 2038-expiring cookie, and they don't store your IP with your search terms forever, by the way ;-)
I will not correct you, Hans-Uwe, because you are not wrong. His hair will be most vulnerable after the chemical service...it doesn't need the additional stress caused by excessive combing, pulling, etc. that accompanies a "slight trim".

I really don't wanna cut my hair short, it feels like it's a part of me now, my personality.
But my girlfriend keeps telling my that all my hairs that are of different length are broken hair, and that the only thing i can do is to cut everything off, is this really true, i cant't really believe that my hair is so bad.
Anyway, i'll keep growing my hair the way it is now, hopefully the my real haircolour that's growing out will replace the damaged hair i have.
And i'm gonna trim for split ends about every 3 months.
That sounds good - keep going.
Hej, Simon.
Do whatever you feel is right for you. I say stick to your natural born color and take even better care of your hair in the future.
Lycka till!
Simon
whether you chop off all your hair or not,it would approximately take the same amount of time to restore your healthy hair.the only difference between cutting it and leaving it is that if you cut it,you'll have to go through the awkward phase again...and maybe even despair and give up on long hair for good.either way,you sorta have to grit your teeth to get through this phase,if you know what I mean :) I know I am,I have split ends like nobody's business, and even the ends of some of my back hairs are white (wtf?)..but I'm still determined to reach the 2-year mark before I do any trimming. If I can do it,you can do it...the best of luck!!
