What if about half of the hair you shed is short and thin? I've been finding hair that is really thin compared to my normal hair. Also the right side of my hair is considerably thicker than my left. This really sucks.
yeah..I have the same problem...I would shed like this really short hairs..and on top of that hairs that split into 3 or more hairs!!not just 2!!really nasty stuff!!I don't know if that's normal or not..
I generally don't tend to shed too many little "new hairs" maybe 1 or 2 a day. But when my hair splits, a lot of the time it splits like yours, i always thought it was just what my hair was like.
I never understood where these short hairs come from...are they the short hairs coming out of the scalp...or breakage from longer hairs?what do you think?
I remember before I had a trim (May this year), I had dry and severely damaged ends, I used to lose bits of hair that where about an inch or 2 long from the breakage of those hairs. Since I had the trim this problem doesn't occur, (but it meant sacrificing about 5" of hair, because id gone for 4 and a half years without trimming since I started growing from a buzz). MY suggestion is: when you lose these little bits pick one out and check if theres a tiny remaining bit of root on one of the ends, if there isn't your hair could be breaking from the tip of your hair, if there is then its some of the shorter hairs shedding... however thats only my guess.

but will often be longer on one side or thicker on one side. My hair is a good example. Notice the disparity in length between the left and right side. My hair at the time the photo was taken was thicker and shorter on the left side, and longer and thinner on the right side.
