This is a strange message but here goes.
I'm about 6'8" and am in the process of letting my hair grow...at least for a while. Anyway, with the fact that I am tall AND at the wrong place at the wrong time, I've suffered some damage to parts of the old cranium. And I believe it has affected hair growth at those places. Any recommendations on how long it takes to get the thinning hair to thicken...any vitamins...? I am doing some scalp massage but there is pain at some of the places. Thanks for the ideas!!! Mike
Your sentence that reads, "...with the fact that I am tall AND at the wrong place at the wrong time..." confuses me. Why do you feel you were at the "wrong place at the wrong time"??
Anyway, that portion of you post aside... since you also mentioned having pain on your scalp, I would strongly suggest you go see a doctor, to make sure all is well there. Relying on internet advise, when you may need to seriously consult with a health care professional, may not properly benefit you in the long run until you ease your mind of any serious concerns, first. Since we can't physically see the areas of your scalp that you're talking about, and since very few regulars here have ever admitted to being in the medical profession, you would be doing yourself a favor by taking care of your scalp in a professional manner over listening to any blind statement we may be giving here.
We are all a bunch of long hair enthusiasts; but the advise we give here is limited to people who we assume are in at least "average" good health. We really cannot and do not give medical advise.
I hope you find the proper remedy to your scalp damage soon, and that you can eventually join us in our long hair journeys!

I think he means that he bumps his head on door posts or somethin like that? :P

Thanks for the advise. The reason I said "wrong place - wrong time": I seem to sustain quite a few head injuries. Had an acoustic shell hit me on the left side of my head after a concert; gotten hit twice with lead pipes; forget about how tall I am when I stand up and hit various things. Guess I've got a really thick skull. Find very few hats that I can wear because they don't usually come in XXXXL.

WOW, indeed you must be tall, --- and I imagine your height would look even more impressive with long hair (lol)!!
I would still consult with a doctor if I were you, to see if any of those injuries over the years did any serious damage... although I doubt it would make much difference to any doctor whether you had your hair long or short! Anyway, my best to you. Take care.

Haha, wow it's nice to know I'm not the only extremely tall person on this board. I'm also 6'8" and seem to bump my head quite a bit too, though I don't think it's affected my hair growth much. It sucks, but being able to tower over people is totally worth it. =)
