I posted a few days ago about how the hair on my right was thinner then the hair on my left. Well it's most noticible in the back right. With the use of 2 mirrors I checked it out.
You know how if spread your hair apart in certain places there will be a line where the part is. Well on my bottem right side there is that line except its 3 times the size of the one on my left. Since no hair is growing from the line my hair is thinner on my right back. What im worried about is if this is going to get worse. Like seriously the right side of my head in the back is 50% thinner than my left.
I think its growing back there but it falls out and that is why I find so my short and thin hairs. It pains my to even think about it, but the thought creaped into my mind that I should cut my hair short so I won't have to worry about it.
Naturally, people tend to be their own worst critics. I can tell that you really think this is a big problem (it may or may not be), but others will definitely not think it looks nearly as bad as you do. Most people probably won't even notice. In any case, if you could post a pic to show what you are talking about, then you are bound to get an answer as to what you should do, if anything.
If you're that concerned about it, and you've got someone you trust that can verify your findings, I'd consult a dermatologist. You *may* have problems, but only a professional will be able to tell for sure. If nothing else, a negative finding by a professional will help put fears to rest.
I wouldn't expect anything from a dermatologist except a nice bill. He would probably say loosing hair is normal as you age.
it says antidepressants can cause hair loss. I've been taking zoloft for the last 2 years. But do you think it would affect only one side of my hair?
I guess it would be possible, I would prob. eat more protiens and get more ammino acids, and see if it goes away, best of luck
dont worry about it sean....lol im like that too...ill be like geeez im losing alot of hair and ill look and ill be like hmm it looks thinner in this area...when in reality it really isnt...its just me being paranoid. You have beautiful hair, just let it grow and stop worrying:)
I would recommend that you have someone you know and trust take a look and see if s/he notices the same thing. Sometimes it can be very hard to tell exactly what's going on on one's own head. If that person sees what you see, then go in for a medical opinion.
