Firefox is a relatively new, free browser that came out in 2004. It's free, it's open source, and it's fully customizable. I learned about it shortly after its release, installed it, and haven't used Internet Explorer since.
Now, Firefox 2 has been released, and it's better than ever. If you're still using Internet Explorer - and especially if you've upgraded to IE7 - you owe it to yourself to check out Firefox.

I've been using FF almost exclusively for years, especially now that I use Kubuntu as my operating system.
Downloaded it yesterday to test some stuff for my website. Definitely loving it more than IE. =)

I also am a big fan of FireFox...been using it almost since the begining.....easy to use, no spam, pop ups, etc. I monitor Ad and Spy ware closely on my system and rarely pick up any on FF.....if I should use IE for even one or two sites.....suddenly there is the garbage again.

I'll wait until I find 2.0 on a cover disc. I'm a whole 25 miles from Washington and broadband isn't available (except satellite).

Glad to hear so many people are searching out alternatives. This is [mostly] a free market society and just because a company gets big doens not mean it is a monopoly -- there are, and always will be alternatives should even a few people be unsatisfied with what is most comonly available.
I use Safari on my mac and it, unlike IE, has only had a few pop-up windows over the past year and no spyware or viruses have appeared on my computer.
