Hi everyone,
I just bought some Aquanet hairspray (yes, the stuff from the 80's). I'm wondering if it would be damaging at all to my hair... I'm very careful with my hair, and I never put anything in it except Garnier Fructis conditioner and occasionally shampoo, and jojoba oil. I just want to do know if it'd be bad for my hair at all, because I have chest-length hair and, well, I like it too much!
The reason for using it is... I'm going to be an 80's dood for halloween... yes, tight bleached pants, bright green shirt that says "Mullet Do" (in the style of the "Mountain Dew" logo), big hair, big boots, and a guitar around my neck... oh yeah and a few beers in my hand.
Hi Peg,
your hair looks great on your avatar - you're making may of us envious! ;-)
If you use the spray on that one occasion only, you should be o.k. - just don't get totally drunk, as drunkenness can be perilous for hair - we've had a few stories of bastardly evil mutilating attacks during parties. I can't determine how many of these stories are true, but watch your drinks (and who has access to your open cans) anyway.
Have a GREAT halloween!
Hans-Uwe
I myself prefer Aussie hairspray for when I do use it ( doesn't everyone HATE flyaways!) It smells great, and has some natural plants in it. I always get compliments on the smell of it!
I dont like hairsprays, it makes hair hard and fragile and its a pain to sleep with (must wash it off before sleep). They are good for launching spuds off of a spud gun however...
Hair spray always makes my head itch and I don't like the plastic look and feel, but it should be harmless on one occasion. Just be real careful if there's any fire around or if you smoke as hairspray is extremly flammable..
...if using hairspray for one day will damage your hair, but don't use it regularly.
L'Oreal Liquid SPRAY Gel will make your hair shiny and healthy looking.
I've been using it for years and have never experienced any kind of damage.
Have a nice time...
I'm just overly concerned about my hair, that's all! I'm not sure why. Haha.
It turned out well though. And I washed all those nasty chemicals out afterward!
