From today when I took a shower this morning I didn't bother to comb or even finger brush my hair. I from this dya forward will no longer comb my hair again, nor condition it. I will begin a water only washing routine and I will not touch or brush or comb my hair in anyway, and thats the only thing I will do to my hair. After a month or so, im willing to bet my hair will start to form natural dreads. Well regardless to what happens, this will be a interesting journey.
Im attaching a photo I already posted before [I posted it already a few days ago] just to give you an idea of what kind of hair I currently have as of this state. The next time I post a picture I have a feeling it will be durastically different. Well wish me luck guys :).
Good luck!!

Well wish me luck guys :).
Good Luck..
And I am willing to bet the same. You might consider asking "That Ball Guy" about this as he is the expert.
Good luck!
This should be interesting to see. Yes, I agree that your type of hair should form natural dreads rather easily. The lead guitarist from H.I.M has really long blond dreadlocks, but I'm not sure if blond is his natural color. Regardless, his blond dreads look very nice and distinctive. I put in two pics. One shows his blonde dreads at shoulder length, and the other depicts them much longer =) Good luck and keep us posted.
I tried the water-only method for around 4-5 months and it was actually kind of nice. Didn't cause my hair to dred or anything. It actually made my hair feel softer and (in my opinion) look more healthy. There was also no more need to hunt down and spend money on the perfect products (I loved this).
On the other hand, I detangled my hair in the shower to prevent tangles, and I occasionally used a mixture of applecider vinegar and water to wash away some of the gunk that built up on my scalp. One thing you should know is that it'll probably take a couple of weeks before you start seeing the more positive results.
Hope you like what you get. :) It's definitely a good learning experience.
Well, I hope you realize what you're doing.
Your hair looks greatly cared for in this pic, and it's length is coming along. If you allow your hair to dread, it's not going to be easy to regain such nice curls, unless you take out the dreads fairly early into their formation and healthy doses of conditioner. And it might not even take a month for your hair to start dreading - mine sticks together nearly every day if I don't finger-comb it.
Basically, you're risking your hair. If you want dreads, well, that's cool, but if you're just experimenting...think it through. Impulsiveness can ruin something very quickly.
Good luck, though!
Peace
IMO, your hair may be too short to form nice dreads. Try with more than 10 centimeters. A friend of mine had wonderful _short_ dreads, just about 5 centimeters.
Once I didn't comb all my hair (less curly than yours) - just was in a hurry and hadn't time to detangle and comb some strands - and they formed nice spiral/wave shaped dreads. Just took three days of missing hair care. Finally I fond some time and carefully detangled them.
Both dreads, and long blonde curls will be beautiful on your head. I will opt for curls :-)))
Dreads may be nice option for lazy people. Just don't waste time on combing. Today I spent 10 minutes on it, went out and wind has ruined my mane in 10 seconds :-P
