Hi Guys,
I had some serious hair drying issues over the last 2 weeks. I used to normally towel dry my hair and then later comb it when it is somewhat moist. However I changed this over the last 2 weeks and ended up in real trouble and I think I lost quite a lot of hair because of this change. The change was to dry hair using air from my ceiling fan. The fan doesn't really blow at high speed to damage the hair. After I tried this routine for 2 weeks i.e atleast 7 washes (with conditioner offcourse) everytime my hair went really really dry and then later in evening when I combed it I lost hell lot of hair. My sink got clogged LOL
I now use only towel and then later comb it when its wet. Further I wear a cap even before the hair get completly dry. This is how I used to do before and seems like it really works for my hair. Do any one of u have similar problem? or is it that just I am strange or should it be special :))

Srini, Great looking hair! The glasses look great with the hair. What brand are they? Am looking around for some glasses and like the style. Mike
Hi Mike... thanks man.
Hey I really don't know much about the glasses ... its some unbranded stuff I got it back in India. Its a half framed design with frame on top part of glass and no frame below the glass.

Srini,
Over time, we all lose some hair. If you are especially concerned about hair loss you might try monoxidil, now an over the counter medication, applied topically. I can't use it because it causes severe itching in my scalp, but other people have no difficulty with it.
An alternative is Propecia, or Finasteride. It comes in 5 MG tablets, and was developed for prostate enlargement. But it is now accepted as a medication to prevent hair loss. It is Rx at 1 MG to prevent hair loss, and is very expensive in that way, but the 5 MG tablets do not cost more and can be broken into chips to last 5 days.
The ceiling fan is not your problem. There is no more gentle way to dry your hair. I suggest a small amount of oil, and I don't think it much matters which one, while your hair is still wet. Comb it, and some of the oil emulsifies and you can towel dry again. Then comb it as you like and let it dry.
I hope this helps.
