Hi folks
So..as I was studying yesterday for my partial differential equations class, guess what I saw landing on my book from my head...a hair, not more than 1 inch, with a split NOT AT THE END,but about halfway the length!!Shortly after giving it some thought as to how this could happen,I arrived at the conclusion that (perhaps) some of my damaged fingernails (very sharp) are responsible for this kind of split,as I do fingercomb a lot!!
So..folks..(just to give a heads-up) double check if your nails are in decent condition before fingecombing!!happy growth everybody!!PEACE! CerebralAssassin out...:P
Thanks for the tip, and good luck with the DiffEQ class. I was there just a few months ago. It's a tough class.

indeed it is!!what's your major?
I'm an electrical engineering student.
Hopefully I'll be finished by next December.

Hey I have a few strands like that, I have longer nails than most guys(still not long though), and I finger comb and I get the same thing, some mid splits. ohh well
Ahhh, that's never happened to me. Sounds scary though, like those hair splinters. I once had my finger nails grown out very long when I was playing as a session classical-guitarist for some friends, and they'd get totally obliterated at the end of each day. I filed them down just a little bit and they never stayed cracked enough to catch on my hair, or anything else. In fact, they made for a pretty efficient comb! And after I cut them off, my hand felt funny for over a week.
Just to show off, here's a picture of my index finger before applying the clippers. I've never had so many people disgusted with me at once for the same thing! :)
Disgusted at what? Growing the nails out, or cutting them off!
Hope your interest in classical guitar comes back some time.
Growing them out, of course!
The interest in classical guitar is always here, I just think it sounds so much better with 'natural plectrums', so I grew them out to perform & record. I still play often with my fleshy fingertips, but only to myself :)
