hi folks,
I'm definitely lovin the thickness of my hair (my beard on the other hand is amazingly thin, what an irony) :P...I only have one complaint about my hair...it grows so slowly!!ARRRGGGhhh...oh well...I guess that's what I get for abusing stimulants :P comments appreciated! :)
I can hardly blame you. It is looking great! :-)
This is the way it works for many a guy. I would hardly call it a loss by any means. You will know much better in a few more years.
I think we all have that one but there is nothing we can really do about it.
Best of luck to you in continued long hair growth.
thanks a bunch Justin!!
hehe...in a few more years I'll be too distracted by my hair to even care about my beard!!so I guess I shouldn't worry about it...
Really nice, thick, healthy hair! Keep it growing!
David
thanks Dave!!
You hair is coming along nicely! Nice and thick too...
thanks man!!
Like you say, the thickness of your hair is fantastic, I wish my hair was thick like it is, but would grow with more "controll" like yours : P . I wouldn't worry about the beard, you look good without it and it'll probably grow thicker in a few years time. Hair does grow slowly don't think of it this way, you're 15 months in. I'm just over 5 years in, look at the difference in the lenght of hair. By your 5th year your hair should be much longer than mine. : )
Keep growing it, and good luck!
Neil
Thanks Neil!!
hehe...it sounds like your hair was all over the place during the awkward phase.it was well worth the wait though wasn't it?
yeah I guess your right...it is an OK growth-rate..:)
take care man and happy growth!!
looks awesome man. keep it growing.
thanks man..you do the same...the awkward phase will be over before you know it!!
Hi Cerebral,
your hair looks awesome, and it suits you perfectly - even if it does grow slower than you'd wish! Plus, it's got a great color. Thus, even if we have to be a bit patient, I'm looking forward to your 2007/2008 updates!
As far as stimulants go, a bit of coffee or tea in the morning shouldn't hurt your hair, if that's what you mean. Just stay away from nicotine products, since smoking can make hair loss worse. -
All the best, and happy growth!
Hans-Uwe
hey Hans,
thanks for the kind words!!unfortunately,I consume more caffeine than one cup of coffee can offer.I consume, on average, about 1 (large) cup of coffee and about 1-2 cans of soda a day.I know that that's not that bad, given that some people drink more than 5 cups of coffee a day...but..I'm suspecting that it retards my growth slightly, because of the fact that I had a bad case of palpititions in the past!!
about the nicotine...does it really cause hair loss??in that case,I'm gonna swear off smoking!!seriously,my hair is my most prized possession right now,and if it means that I have to quit smoking to improve my hair, then I will do it!!(even though the withdrawal symptoms are gonna be a pain :P)
Hi Cerebral,
yes, I'd definitely swear off nicotine. That's probably the obne thing retarding hair growth. There's at least one study that shows that smoking makes MPB-related hair loss worse, while no-one has found anything in relation to coffee yet.
I suggest you read "Allen Carr's easy guide to stop smoking" by, obviously, Allen Carr. It's a $ 10.- paperback. This guy went from 100 a day to zero - cold turkey - and he made it. The three days of feeling unwell that you'd go through, will add decades of healthiness to your life and most likely to your hair, too. Ask your girlfriend to stick it out with you, tell her you'll be nice and balanced again when it's over ;-)
All the best!
Hans-Uwe
WoW!!from 100 to 0?AND cold turkey?!sounds like an interesting read!!I haven't smoked for a little over a day...and so far no serious withdrawal symptom!!I guess it's because I'm really motivated..take care!!
Hi Cerebral,
congratulations! You're really determined, and you'll make it. Your hair is not only great-looking, it's smelling 1000% better already, by the way! And, your future updates are going to be even better...
Stay strong, and happy growth! All the best!
Hans-Uwe
I quit smoking 6 years ago and there have been many times since when I thanked God I did. One thing I remember that really helped was that I identified "triggers" that is, things that I associated with smoking that made me want to light up a cigarette. for me, these were coffee, and certain emotions. when i was angry, or feeling pressured (usually in my job) I'd want to smoke badly. when these feelings came on, i would simply walk away from whatever I was doing for about 15 minutes and ride it out. I also found that the craving for a cigarette would pass in a few minutes. hate to say it but i had to give up coffee for a week or two, maybe longer because i paired coffee and cigarettes so closely. I don't know how i did that now, but if you want to save your life, which is what I think quitting smoking means, you'll be motivated to make the sacrifice. The good news is that the worst part lasts only about a week then it gets better. After two weeks it gets a lot better. Think of the money you'll save too. In the U.S. a pack of cigarettes is around $5 now? if you smoke one pack a day, multiply 5 x 365 and think about what you could do with that money. you could buy a ton of shampoo and conditioner!
yeah...I just quit a few days ago myself!!I too associated smoking with places and emotions...and it's a myth that smoking relives stress! In fact, I remember that whenever I was stressed out about something and lit up a cigaretter,during/immediately after smoking the cigarette the stress sometimes got even worse!!take care!
Thanks and and same to you and good luck, i hope you stick with it! I still every great once in awhile get a feeling that a cigarette would be great but it is very infrequent now and only lasts a few seconds so it definitely gets better! I'm running three times a week now too and i can breathe!
What a transformation, --- and what great-looking hair!!!
Keep it growin'!!
- Ken in San Francisco
hehe,It took me a while to figure out what you meant by "transformation".then I realized you compared my pic with my avatar (my avatar was from 6 months ago). I'm pretty slow.Anyway, thanks, and I'd have to say you have awesome hair as well (I visited your website :P), I love the waviness!!take care!
Very nice hair! Definitely got some great thickness and shine with it. =)
-James
thanks mate!!
Wow! Your hair is superthick! It looks pretty cool and you have some nice colors in it as well. The reason why you don't see much progress in lenght might be because it grows so much Outwards instead of Downwards. and with so many hair strains it will take some time before the weight itself forces it down. Try wetting it, it probably looks a bit longer in that condition.
coming from a thick hair like yourself means a lot! thanks!
perhaps your right...I would love to retain my "outwardness" as my hair get's longer!!like you...the thickness was an issue to me as well!!(I was contemplating to get an undercut a few months ago..I'm glad I changed my mind!!).Now I'm apprecaiting the thickness more and more :P
haha...that reminds me..I'll post a wet hair pic next time!!cheers!!
Me like, me like!
You have great volume to your hair, you are v. lucky.
Also, are you pulling a HHHH pose there (e.g. with the forehead lines)?
Great update and I hadn't realised it was so long!
Cheers to further growth!
LOL...you noticed I have the same forehead lines as HHH huh?
I see what you mean about the thickness, you have great volume alright and it's accentuated by the waviness of your hair. Looking great!
thanks Jason!!and may I say that you have a mane that is certainly eye candy material!! :)
But you said in an earlier posting that the photo in your avatar is from only six months ago?! If so, your hair grows anything but slowly.
Carla.
thanks for the compliment!!I had no idea it grew at a decent rate..probably I was being too paranoid about it :P
