just wondering what happent to the last update I posted.
it was there then all of a sudden it is gone and it was not that long ago
to have run off the end of the page
Perhaps the page did not fully load on your computer? It is about a quarter of the way down on mine.

yeah..I've noticed the "dissapearing" posts too...maybe the moderators remove them...anyway...yours is further down..I just saw it!! :)
Keep in mind that the moderators remove ALL posts eventually. It's just a matter of "when".
Most posts are removed along with all the others in the same thread. This is done two or three times a week. Threads which have not been posted to in the last ten days or so are removed. Few people comment on threads over three days old anyhow, and the main page's list of messages just takes longer and longer to load if we don't trim it. That means more waiting for users - waiting for stuff they don't really want to see since they've seen it already. Some threads get discussion for awhile, but others don't. This explains why some threads older than one of yours-that-has-been-removed may still remain. This process is manually implemented (usually by Absalom) but the selection of threads for removal is an automatic process (they are selected by the software).
A few posts are, of course, removed earlier by the Moderation Crew because of inappropriateness or some other reason requiring manual intervention, but that number is very small. I just looked at one chunk of a thousand messages and found only eleven of them had met that fate.
