Here's a link to my favorite music video that's dedicated to males with long hair...and yes everyone in the video is male.
Also if anyone knows who the guy is that they show from 1:23-1:25 let me know!
Thanks for the link! Never seen the musical, but always a good song nonetheless.
Thanks for the video, it cheered up my morning.
The music is from the movie by Milos Foreman, dating from 1979, and I remember, when the movie came out, how classmates told me it was "dated". Of Course, in 1979, the vietnam war was over, and young men had to have shorter hair to be one of the boys... according to an article in the National Enquirer ;)
I have seen an adaptation of the original play, in 1985, with the famous nude scene, before the intermission, and when the final song "Let the Sunshine" was played, the audience members were invited to dance on the stage and in the aisles.... that brings back memories.
Last year, I saw a French version of the play, which was based on the movie, and I think it was mediocre, since the movie doesn't do justice to the original play.
A bit of censorship can be seen in the movie:
In the song "Initials" "Lbj took the I.R.T." the original lyricl were:
"LBJ took the IRT down to Fourth Street USA, when he got there, what did he see? The Youth of America on LSD"
In the 1979 movie the lyrics were changed to:
"LBJ took the IRT down to Fourth Street USA, when he got there, what did he see? Freaky people on LSD"
On top of that, the nude scene was removed, as already, in 1979, it was important to take into consideration, all sensibilities.
Have a nice day
