Hi guys,
I'm wondering if the length of shed length hairs relative to the longest hairs on a person's head can predict possible future problems, such as worsening of MPB? I've been a bit concerned about this lately. (I'm 53 and I do have some thinning at the temples and crown, not too severe at this point) The longest hairs on my head are around 15 inches or so, and most of my shed hairs are much shorter, only 8 inches or so. (I very rarely see a shed hair longer than 10 inches) They are not broken hairs, as the root ball is intact. My daily shed loss is low, however, and in fact improved 2 months ago when I started being much more gentle with my hair. (This was when I discovered this board and found out how to care for long hair) I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to why my shed hairs are so much shorter than my longest hairs? I hope this is not an indication of future baldness. Hopefully, I'm worrying for nothing.
hey Dave,
I see where you're comin from, as I too, shed relatively short hairs (not more than an inch) and for a while wondered what was causing this...but..rest assured...I don't think it's a predictor for future problems...because even though I shed these relatively short hairs, my mane just keeps getting thicker and thicker, and plus I'm relatively young (23) so...I wouldn't worry about it :)
oh btw, before I forget...I remember you saying a while back that you started taking multivitamins after discovering this board...my question is: have you noticed any improvement in your hair's health since taking them?cause I'm contemplating to start a multivitamin regimen, and I'm just wondering if multivitamins work or not? :)
Hi there,
I've been taking multivitamins as well as Saw Palmetto for around a month now (due to Absalom's replies to one of my earlier posts), and although my hair appears healthier than 2 months ago, it's too soon to tell if my improvement is due to the vitamins or better overall hair care. (Before discovering this board I straightened almost daily--aomething that can DESTROY hair.--I only wish I had discovered the board 2 1/2 years ago when I started growing) I also plan to switch the multivitamins to a high potency B complex including Biotin, as I hear the B vitamins are especially good and the A vitamins not so good for hair. My hair also appears to be growing again. (I had been concerned about terminal length)--I will be able to assess this better in the coming months.

Where could I order vitamin online? Vitamin in Taiwan is so expensive....
Hi Tai Fu,
Unfortunately, I have no experience buying vitamins online, as I buy mine in the local grocery or drug store. Perhaps someone else on the board reading this could help?
David
hi. so which vitamin is good for the hair is it B?????
I have heard that B vitamins are good for hair. Biotin (which is one of the B vitamins) is supposed to be one of the best ones. The B vitamin megacomplex that I bought includes Biotin.

thankyou .
You might try Puritan's Pride. They are reasonably priced and ship fast.
