I was looking at David Bisbal's new video coming out called "Soldado de Papel" in which he slices his hair off with a razor-knife. I was trying to figure out why he did it, but I think it was to protest the countries who involve children in armed conflict.
Here is an excerpt from the write-up:
En el rodaje David Bisbal se corta el pelo. No solo yo, también los niños, todos nos hemos cortado el pelo, es un gesto cargado de simbolismo. David Bisbal ha querido de esta manera concienciar, dar a conocer y sensibilizar a la sociedad sobre este problema tan poco conocido.
I may be missing something in the translation!
Either way, he is "mucho guapo," but he had some cool hair. His new record coming out looks to be as good as the former one (Buleria). If his hair cutting can bring a stop to some violence, then more power to him. I'm certainly not chiding him in any way; I'm sure it was his decision. I am betting he will grow it back. It was kind of his trademark.
And another Latin singer's hair bites the dust, although I don't think Juanes cut his for any political reason. But I do admire Bisbal's conviction, and while I've never been a big fan, his music is starting to grow on me.
Cheers,
Jeremy
