I was wondering how actors make their awkward stage length hair.....NOT awkward at all.
Was just wondering if anyone knew.
I myself am at almost 11 months of growth...which brings me to my next question...
My hair is extremely unruly and at about 2 inches from the ends of the hairs, they tend to curl (even tho my hair is naturally straight/ slightly wavy but VERY THICK)
It makes my hair looks a lot shorter tha it is....(im at 11 months and my hair curls around so much that the bangs just barely reach my eyebrows..but when extended, they are about a cm from my mouth)
Is there anything i can do to straighten those weird curls or at least make my hair actually look a bit better?
I cant wait to be able to put my hair in a ponytail but that still seems so VERY VERY far away...
Sorry, but one more thing,
Is there any way to reduce the "body" or "volume" of my hair??....it just seems to lift magically against gravity...i see a few people of my age with hair my length but their hair seems longer than mine b/c their hair goes straight and doesn't curl at the ends...(their hair looks similar to Devin's)
Thanks,
Gio
You basically have to wait for it to get long enough for gravity to pull it down. It takes a lot of patience. this is partly why you don't see very many men with long hair. I have a theory that 80% of all budding longhairs bail out in the first year. If you can hang in there and put up with bad hair and all the negativity from people for the first 12 months you have a pretty good chance of sticking with it.
actors look gorgeous (I'm assuming you're referring to tv shows and movies) because just off screen during every take, there are 5 or 10 people standing there with wardrobe duplicates, makeup, hair tools, spritz, fans, towels, etc. etc. to make sure the star always looks cool, beautiful and perfect. in other words, it's a totally faked unrealistic world and don't waste time using them as a standard for comparison. Even the shows where someone is supposed to look unattractive, they manage to look fantastic because hollywood's idea of unattractive is to take someone who is beautiful and have him or her wear glasses. they have hair specialists with every kind of chemical nightmare you can think of, plus hair extensions to make someone with an afro look like brad pitt. Unless you have thousands of dollars to blow and don't mind wrecking your hair, I'd ignore hollywood.
Hi, my hair is thick and wavy too, I tried growing it out many times but as it got to a certain length it would curly directly upwards which looked fairly strange! This time however I waited through it and used hats quite often. I straightened it sometimes but would strongly advise against it as it eventually resulted in split ends. I also tried many hair products to reduce volume and frizz as my hair looked 'big' and some did help. I found that matt hair clays and cremes were good because they didn't look greasy. Once through the 'verticle stage' to my suprise my hair grew into spirals and the weight reduced frizz and volume which i liked. Anyway I was very glad I got through it without cutting again, I hope you do the same, regards.
thanks!
yea, i was planning to keep growing my hair long anyway...
b/c even tho it gets annoying with its bigness, im still loving having my hair longer as compared to having it short.
