I was wondering if having sweaty hair, that is, one's hair being pretty muched soaked in sweat after rigorous excersise, cause the ends to be dryer and rougher than usual? I am askig this beacuse, i find my tips are very dry, almost coarse liek, but i dont think its because of natural causes as I take good care of my hiar. Any help is appreciated.
I don't have an answer, but I've been wondering the same thing, as I've been working out much more often lately.

Well, it depends on what else you are doing around the exercise...is your hair protected from mechanical damage, or is it down and rubbing against itself and your clothes? Do you rinse or wash afterwards? The salts and other chemicals in sweat probably aren't going to do your hair any good, especially if left in or allowed to dry. If you shampoo after exercise, that will tend to dry the ends out. Others find that just a water rinse after exercise is enough to clean the hair and scalp and not dry the hair out much (well, I do too, but I'm WO otherwise).
I work in extreme heat and must also wear a hardhat.....I find wearing a bandanna and a sweatband helps enormously, not only for comfort, but also protects my hair...Personally, I think you get a bit of a natural oil treatment.
