You noticed hair growth after one night's sleep...DREAM ON!
In my honest opinion, I find it impossible to notice hair growth within one night. Don't misinterpret me, I am not calling you a liar. The reason for my opinion is that the average growth rate for hair is about one-half of an inch per month. Perhaps you're above average but, I find it very unlikely..`. Keep taking them, Perhaps they help
Don't discount placebo effect.
LOL!!exactly what I was thinking :)
Did you have a fever recently or something? Increased body temperature means increased metabolism. Up to 40% or so. That's why after you are sick you have a lot of ear wax and your fingernails are bigger. And you have longer hair. ;)
But no, Vitamin B isn't a miracle cure thing for hair. :(
Be careful about dosages! They are there for a reason. I take a B-12 complex, but only once a week. Sometimes, too much can be dangerous. In many cases, when a little can help, a lot can hurt. You can even overdose on water! It would be wise to ask your doctor about this. I'd hate to hear that you got all this fantastic growth, and then one morning, you find all your hair stays on the pillow when you get up!
I myself do not plan on taking more than the one tablet a day as suggested on the bottle. I assume this is OK? (I would take it that taking more than the suggested dosage could be a problem as taking too much of anything would be.)

Any in excess of a normal dose for B12 is simply excreted in the urine. . .Look at the label, most B12 and B complex liquid vitamins say to take one dropper full per day, which the label says is somewhere around 1200% the RDA.
In that case, taking an excess of any vitamin, even if it's not dangerous, that's eliminated by the body is just a waste. At any rate, caution can prevent trouble at the worst, and at the least, inconvenience.
Hi Palaces,
Vitamin B does help, but so does a healthy diet. If you want to take the B-100 variety, take one tablet twice a week, and add 60 mg of Zinc, 5-10 mg of biotin (DON't combine with un- or under-cooked eggs, streptavidine in eggs inactivates biotin), and some iodine (eg 400 micriograms twice a week (unless you have overfunction of your thyroid gland).
Excess vitamin B-1 and B-6 can have some funny effects, like making some nerve diseases worse, funny dreams, unwanted sexual arousal (No, it's NOT a good reliable aphrodisiac), and the like - just so that you know.
Even with the twice-weekly regimen you probably will get better growth. By the way, if you don't notice any change after a few months, then you should stop spending money on vitamins.
If you smoke (including passive smoking), by all means, stop. That's good for your hair growth and extremely cost-effective ;-)
All the best,
Hans-Uwe
I take a B-100 complex(among other things) daily for general health, and it works great for me. I have strong, fast-growing fingernails, long healthy hair, and more energy than nearly anyone I've met.
That being said, taking way more than the normal amount of B vitamins is just wasting them. Water-soluble vitamins have a half-life in the body of around half an hour, which means that 3/4 of that pill is gone in an hour. Instead of taking way more than is safe and healthy, look for a smaller dosage and take it 3 times a day. Watch out what else is in the pill. Some contain iron(you can OD on that, especially as a healthy guy).
