Is it possible for the ends of hair to be thinner with bad treatment?
I have been growing my hair for 11 months from a shaved head and I have washed it almost everyday, and blow dried it after every time I have washed it and used a light weight conditioner. Now the ends of my hair look quite raged and thin, and over all my looks thinner, not just the ends, this is probably an illusion created by the fact the ends of the hair are thinner.
Th reason i ask is the last time i grew my hair out from a shaved head on my first attempt the ends of my hair weren't as thin and ragged as they are were back then; even after 16 months of growth, and i almost never blow dried my hair. I only washed it once or twice a week and i used a much heavier conditioner.
So this time round, on my second attempt at growing long, my hair looks thinner, could this be because i haven't treated my hair as well as i did last time?
Hi Mellow,
I wouldn't worry too much, it's maybe just that "memory paints the past with gold as paint", as an old Chinese proverb says. And, even if it is a bit thinner than a few years ago, so what - just grow it anyways and take good care of it.
Post some pics if you feel comfortable doing so.
Happy growth!
