Hey guys. You may have heard my story of going into supercuts for a haircut after one year and ending up looking like a german. No matter, my hair is already halfway down my ears. But I must confess that I do not have the same hair growing goals as most of you. I am pleased with medium-length styles- shoulder length. So I have decided on hair grow/cut cycles of about 9-12 months. Why? Because I enjoy my hair short (Uniform style) all the way to chin-shoulder length. It gives me a different style almost every month, and is perfect because i have long hair by winter and then short hair for summer. So I must confess that I mainly use this site for hair care tips. But for all you guys that want their hair down to their knees, keep it growing!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony,
Speakiing only for myself, the only thing that is important to me is that you enjoy your hair and feel free to express yourself the way you think best. One size does not fit all, and I think orthodoxy is dangerous.

And just what does a "german" look like? I was under the impression that German people, like all other ethnic groups, came in a great variety of "looks". Please enlighten me.
Or, is this another unfortunate example of using a group that you personally find distasteful as a synonym for "bad"? Sorry if I've misunderstood your usage here, but I've seen gay people, black people, people of Asian origins, gypsies, etc all be used as the current synonym for "inferior" or "bad", and think we need to point that out when it's happening. It gives offense, and it does not portray respect for people's differences which are minimal compared to our universal similarites.

Although still not a good choice of words, I believe he was referring to the incorrect stereotype of clean cut, militaristic hairstyles of Germans. Or at least thats how I took it.
Thanks for the encouragement, Tony. But be a little more careful on the words you choose.

Partly just because I can, and partly just because you guys might get a kick out of this, I post this, but by definition, "german" spelled with a lower case 'g' is an adjective meaning "having the same parents or grandparents on one side" as in 'cousin-german' from the Latin 'germen' meaning offshoot or bud. I ran across this word the other day, and had to look it up! HAHAHAHAHAHA! It is also, as a noun, an intricate dance for several couples. Maybe, just maybe, he meant his hair was like an intricate folk dance!!!!???!!! Probably not!
There are some Germans on here that have excellent looking hair. I will assume you are thrilled at the result of your cut and are lookng your best.

Hi Tony,
I'm about as German as it gets, but I'm not gonna beat you for stereotyping ;-)
Suffice to say, even rural regions here in Germany seem to be a bit more relaxed than, say, certain parts of the rural US south. I live in the northeast (Berlin region), and we have plenty of everything between buzzcuts and waist-long hair.
Happy growth!
Hans-Uwe
P.S. Thanks for the encouragement, that we will certainly do!
sorry guys, I originally said that I looked like a member of the socialist party promininet in Germany from 1930's-40's(apparently can't say it here), but the site changed my words on me, I swear. I was born in Germany and have a deep respect and love for the country, so I would not generalize the people.
