Hey some of you may remember me... I have been an active user of this website all of last year and most of this year. UNTIL i done something I regretted!!! cut my damn hair!!! yup, i gave in on all the silly pressures!.. and I felt jealous of all you longhaired guys everytime I'd even think of posting on this message board!!! lol. my main reason for getting it cut is because I couldnt get a job... no matter how many interviews I went to. And the really stupid thing is, as soon as I got my hair cut, I got a JOB!! a good job too as a fulltime computer salesman!...
So i plan to grow it all back again.... I attached a picture on this post of how my hair used to look... and if you can please check out my blog at http://salidbar07.blogspot.com/ you will see what my hair looks like at the present moment.
My aim is to grow it out again but I have to keep it all neat at the same time, for my job! so would growing the top of my hair first be a better idea??? because my sides grow out very messy, and if I grow the top first I can grow the sides when the top has fallen over them. anyone have any idea?? could I possibly grow my hair in a neat way for work??? any comments would be gladly appreciated...
THANKS EVERYONE!!
Best advice: Just leave it alone. It has a good shape and will even out on its own over time.
You might want to use hair gel and comb it back while it grows out.
Hats will help to smooth down your hair. Then, when it's long enough you can make a tail and nothing looks neater than that!
Good luck on your long hair journey!
David ,
Your side of the story seems to be interesting, Even I am a sales guy selling software for the last 2.2 years... Have been growing my hair over the last 1.5 years.. So far I have not faced any problem ....But having been in sales what I have understood is that some times its a problem , problems of various kinds ...first one, your employer is fine with your hair , but your coustomer seems to have a silent issue abt it (which sometimes goes unnoticed , u only know while u lost the deal) .... next your company folks are oldish in thinking , this is a bigger problem.... attending trade fair & conferences is a major problem , as you are caught in the spotlight....
You know I have been going all through this for some time..& I have come to a conclution... some basics I have learnt
1. Feel very proud of your hair..
2. Feel even more confident while carrying it( u have long hair cos u like it simple as that), u dont look like the regulars...this demarkation is good but keep it in healthy terms.
3. expose your passionate sides to people, which usualy the regulars hide it.. may be anything like ur interests in Music, Peotry , Biking etc....this shows ur long hair sensibilities in a professional work environment & not the wannabe nature...
4. Tie ur hair incase if its a serious discussion , meeting , Event , conference etc..
5. Inspite all the above points if people still have problems with your hair... wait for some time till u gain experience & hop jobs until you land in a place where you find the right kind of people...
Cheers
