Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a few weeks and figured posting some pics would give me some more incentive to not cut my hair. My last cut was 6 months ago, and there was probably a month or two of growth before that, so I guess I'll start counting now at 8. I'm planning to not cut it ever again. We'll see how that goes :-).
The picture on the left is about 2 months ago, the one on the right was taken about 2 minutes ago. I'm hoping to be able to ponytail it about a year from now. After doing some research I've started washing my hair in cooler water, which is getting increasing uncomfortable as the New England winter starts setting in. It does look a little better though, so I'm sticking with it. I haven't started using conditioner yet, I've heard this makes the hair look better in the short term but provides no long term gain. Any thoughts on this?
Also, this site is kinda cool: http://www.tlhs.org/xtra.html
It's all women (which I guess it technically OT) but some of them are pretty impressive. Something to shoot for for those of you that are already years ahead of me. I think this ones the most impressive. http://www.tlhs.org/l_hair68.jpg
Looks great. Long hair will suit your face very well, imho.
Just curious to know why you decided you want long hair. Has this been something you've thought about for many years and have just now decided to go for, or is it some recent interest?
Also, how long do you want to grow it, and why?
Do any of your friends have long hair? I think it's easier to begin the long process of growing your hair long if you have a friend or friends to share the experience with.
Best of luck, and keep us posted on your sucessful journey.
Hmmmm i really don't know why i wanted long hair, i just always hated having short hair and had thought about growing my hair since i was 12, plus long hair is just great i love wind blowing against my hair feels so much better than wind blowing against a bald head, but the downside is it's harder to take care of and you'll always get the odd day where it just looks terrible, but its worth it.
I had a friend that was growing his for over a year, but he just cut it. I've wanted to for a quite a while, but something always comes up (a holiday or an interview or a graduation) and I end up getting it cut. Now that I have a steady job and have less contact with my parents (who still tell me to cut it every time they see me) I figured it was a good time.
Does it matter Michael, he's doing it for himself and good luck Gregor and you will get full support here.
It would be nice to see a recent picture of you at some point!
