I have been working very hard to grow my hair long and healthy for about a year now. It is now about 7 inches long and I was wondering how long it has to be to have a good pony tail? My hair is fine, so when I do put a pony tail in, the sides fall out bad. The back bottom of my hair will do a pony tail already, but I can't wait to do one pony tail. Thanks.
Just wait longer.
Yup, looks like you need to wait 6-8 more months. You'll get there eventually. Just wear it down for now, fine hair doesn't get big like thick hair during the awkward stages.
I'm there with you right now, the sides barely reach and the front still has a couple of inches to go... And I have to meet with clients regularly! So, much as I hate putting goop in my hair, I've been gelling it when it's damp and combing it into place with a ponytail in, and it hardens like a freakin' turtle shell on my head (but with a great ponytail). Then when it's dry I comb/brush back through it again (to kill the gloppy wet mobster look), then I put the ponytail back in and spray over it lightly. Works pretty nicely and looks ok, but a little on the sticky side.
I reeeeally hate putting crud in my hair, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right?
