Hullo guys,
O.k, I'm on my 10 months anniversary and both my housemates, both being girls say that I need a trim!
I was really hoping to go around 2 years before a trim but they say I've got split ends. When I look there are some slight patches at the back that look a little fuzzy, but I wouldn't class them as split ends!
My hair is quite thick with a few waves and when I shampoo and condition it goes really big and fluffy anyway(lol).
I'd show you pics, but my camera phone isn't good enough really. I guess I really want to just clear a couple of things up.
The first is, they say that my hair will stop growing if I don't get it trimmed, which I think is bull. Are they right?
Second, if say the worst of the worst and I do have a few split ends, how long could I safely get away with just leaving them while I grow my hair out?
I'm sorry for rammbling, I guess after about a month of nagging things can get a little on top of you, but also in all fairness they both have said that I wouldn't be Matt if I didn't have my long(ish) hair, so I know they're not trying to trick me into having it all shaved off.
My goal by the way, is shoulder length on the sides with the back a little lower into a "v", kind of a classic look I guess.
Any help and advice is so much appreciated, thank you :)
Matt
That rubbish, your hair wont stop growing just because of a split end or two.
Your hair will still grow. but the splits, if you have any, will just cause a few tangles.
don't listen to them.. There's really no reason to trim your hair until you reach your goal. You might have some split ends, but since you're only at 10 months of growth i still wouldnt worry about it.
Shoulder length is a good goal. Not every guy wants super long hair.
Whatever your hair goalis...it should make you HAPPY. Otherwise, what's the point?
If you have only a few split ends, I don't see why you would need a trim.
But if you decide to get a trim, ask for what they call a "dusting." That is, the hairstylist takes off just a tiny bit
off the ends so that what ends up on the floor looks like 'dust.'
Good luck.
Thanks for your advice, guys:).
I'll prolly just carry on growing it now and keep an eye on it. It is amazing how many myths about hair there is out there!
