Hello everyone! Had a great story to share about my hair and Thanksgiving! I hadnt seen my family in about a year...they came to my town to pick me up for Thanksgiving..I hadnt told them about my long hair ( or my earring for that matter) Both my father and brother were like..wow...your hair is so long (its like to my shoulders...long for them!) and one of them said I looked like my uncle..who has hair about my length! My brother later on that night was looking at me..and he was like..you know, I really like your long hair and earring, it works on you..it definetly suits you! That made me feel really good about it...i was really thinking of cutting it. Not anymore!!! And I went to a club last night and I saw a woman who had dreadlocks to about her waist and I complimented her on them..I saw her looking at my hair..after a bit she started touching mine and was like..your hair is great! Its so long!!(Its curly so it looks shorter than it is!) Anyways..just thought i would share that story!!!
That's awesome, dude. Congrats. That's indeed something to be thankful for.
I went to my half-brother's house for Thanksgiving. Though he and his fiancee are cool with my hair (they call me Troy Polamalu), my two little neices don't usually know what to think of it, as they're too young to really understand males having long hair; they've probably never experienced it, except on me. But this year, they hardly said a word on the subject. They were a bit shocked to see me in a ponytail one night, as my hair is usually down, but they got over it quickly. It's funny; as much as they likely think my hair is weird (though acceptably so, and they like being weird, to paraphrase them), they'd probably think a haircut would look a lot weirder, and they might not get over it as quickly as when I simply tied back my hair.
Peace
And what a refreshing story it was! Thanks so much for sharing that one with all of us. Kind of like breath of fresh air compared to so many stories we hear which unfortunately are opposite.
It's great to get these positive comments from people, especially family isn't it? I'm also fortunate to not get any (or much) static from family and the compliments from people are a real incentive to stick with it.
