Min hund!!!
Here is a picture of my new puppy. It's a rat terrier/Jack Russell mixture. She is only seven weeks old, and we got her on Thanksgiving day. Fully grown, she will only be about 15 lbs. I've never had a small, hyper dog before, but she is so cute. I have not came up with a name so far.
I think the breed was originally bred to catch mice, hence the name. She is already very active and has gotten over being shy already. I have never trained a dog to stay in the house, so this will be a challenge. She may end up being a predominantly-outside dog when she's older.
If you wanted an animal to catch mouse why not get a Cat? they are better at catching mouse...
My two cats leave dead mice all over the back yard. LOL
Well its better than leaving living mice everywhere...
Sure is a cute puppy but I hear those terriers are bundles of energy that can't be inside for long lol. Good luck keeping her out of trouble :)
As for a name, maybe something Latin, like the word for hurricane or something lol
Hey Bragi
I have two small dogs and are they ever great! I'm sure you will come up with a great name for yours. Really sweet. Ha ha ha...........a bundle of energy they sure are when young. Enjoy your little friend. :-)
Justin~
ps: my two little friends.
i once had a jack russel with the very same colouring...great dogs...provided there trianed not to have "short dog syndrome" :p
ours was born on hte same day as me! it was my constant companion....followed me everywhere and tried to protect me when i was little :P
i absulutely love the breed
when im older im planning on getitng one of these and a malamute
My neighbours had a Jack Russell named "Eddy". My! What a bundle of energy he was!--never settled down. My neighbours actually bought a house with a bigger yard so he could have more room to run and explore. They recently got another Jack Russell puppy named "Teddy", to be a companion for Eddy. Eddy was initially very jealous of the attention given to Teddy but now they are great companions, and there are now TWO bundles of energy instead of one.
And yes, Matt, your puppy is indeed hands-down ADORABLE!!!!

Your puppy is sooo cute. I think Peanut would be a nice name for such a small cute puppy! Just a sugestion though. Enjoy your new little friend- V
Is this some kind of torture type thing?
Thanks guys for the compliments. I just read all of them to the puppy. She is very happy that all you guys think she is so cute. I really didn't just do that, but you know that I know that things like that are cute to say too. She may get the name Lightning she is so fast.
Ken, That is so random that we have the same flooring.
This is my puppy, Rover (yes, that is his name!). This was the only time I could get him to hold still for 2 seconds. We think he's part Chihuahua and part Pappillon (sp?). All I know is that he can fly!
