I haven't posted in a while, but I'm still here, and my hair is still long. Here are some update pictures. Not the most flattering, but at least they show my hair length.
And from the back...
That's all, folks!
Great length there and your hair looks fantastic! Congrats!
=)
Very nice hair, man. It's too bad you don't see more men with MPB growing their hair. It's a very distinguished, wise looking style in my opinion. I'm a big fan of Shakespeare =)
Hi Pat,
Congratulations on the impressive length past your belt! It gives an old fart like myself(I'm 53), the hope of achieving waist or longer length hair. I was wondering how long it took you to grow it?
All the best,
David
About 5 years, starting with hair covering most of my ears (so it wasn't real short).
Nothing is more flattering than a happy smile like yours, Pat. You have hair to be proud of and it shows.
Elizabeth
Thats some incredible man Pat, so shiny and healthy. Looks outstanding and I have to agree with Elizabeth you sure look like a happy man :)
Seeing your hair should be an inspiration for anyone to grow theirs. Had you had it in a plait before taking the picture? I notice it seems straighter in your avatar photo.
Yes. I find that the easiest way to dry my hair after a shower is to just braid (plait) it while it's wet, and take it out when it's good and dry.
Wow! I never thought of that.. might consider it. Thanks, Pat!

Fantastic hair, Pat! Is that natural waviness, or do you braid your hair?
Bruce
Braid it. See my reply to TracyMichael.
Hey Pat S. you have some good length there. It is good you grew it out even though it is a bit thin on top. (The longest hairs grow from the sides and back.) It is well past your waist and you are quite tall. You appear to be about 6'2" in the photo. Keep growing it, it will likely get even longer.
Absalom
No, I'm actually only 5'8". Like many Southerners, I'm a bit long in the back and short in the legs. Seems to be a genetic thing. I can't wear a short-waisted jacket, because if it is my size, the waist will be above my belt. And if I get a "tall" version, the arms will be too long. Anyhow, I'm a bit curious to know how you can guess at height from a 2-D picture.
I look at a person's head compared to the length of their body. Human heads are all very similar in size. The reason for the gross error here is that I could only see you from the waist up. My height estimate was based on torso length. If I was able to see all of you, I would be able to estimate much more accurately.
If I see a video of someone walking around, I can estimate height reasonably accurately. In addition to head size compared to body size, I can see stride length and frequency as well.

Looking real good, Pat! I like the waviness to it. Is that natural?

No need to respond, Pat. I read your reply to TracyMichael...
