Greetings - Like Carters recent post and SOADdudes earlier this week, its the little things about my long(er)hair I've been noticing and enjoying lately.
1. The last few times I've gone to the tanning salon I've had to tie my hair back and then double up my ponytail to keep it off my shoulders. 2. Today was windy and I was out at recess with my students. My hair was blowing and getting messed up pretty good but I wasn't self-concious about it. When we went in I finger combed it back in place and it stayed put. Later I confidently tied it up in a tail before going home and spoke with several colleagues on the way out. 3. I put a bandana on when I'm working out. Yesterday I was looking at some progress pics (training wise)from several months ago and noticed a big difference in how long my hair was then compared to now. I also looked up some pics taken on a trip over the 4th of July weekend and was really amazed how much it's grown since then.
My grandmom used to say, "life is what happens when you're making other plans." So it is with our hair. Though we are anxious to get it long (especially those like me in the early stages - 16 mo.s)and we fret, fuss and worry about it at times, and it seems like it's taking for ever...in reality our hair is growing steadily whether we realize it or not and in time we DO begin to notice the changes; suble at first and then more pronounced. I guess that is what's meant by "Enjoying the Journey." Peace - Bruce in N.C.
