Referring to your question to me a few threads below... You can find cone-free shampoos in most salon ranges like, Paul Mitchell, Joico etc. If you'd like cone-free shampoos with clarifying functions, you may try Paul Mitchell Tea-Tree shampoo, or Joico "Resolve" shampoo.
A warning though... I could cost a quarter to half an arm or a leg (more expensive than Mane n Tail, that is).
Finally, cones usually reside in conditioners (instead of shampoos), as they perform the function of smoothing out the scales on the surface of the hair shaft. Since they are essentially wax, they will harden and build-up on your hair layer-by-layer and eventually, "suffocate" your hair when a very thick layer accumulates. Hence, the need to clarify the scalp and hair (which Fallen_Angels had given a very good and concise brief on clarification in the same thread).
My apologies for answering more than what was solicited.
so whats the cheapest cone free conditioner I can find at watsons?
Afraid none. Cone-free conditioners are really hard to come by, I only know of Joico's "Intense Moisturizer" and Joico's "K-Pak" to-date, of course, with the much more expensive organic ranges.
Well, what you can do is simply comb the shop, look through the conditioners' ingredients. If no terms ending with "cone" turn up in the list, chances are that it's a cone-free conditioner.
Or you can stick to cone-conditioners, and do periodic clarification of your hair.
Good luck!
I looked at mane and tail's ingredient list and it has nothing ending with -one. It has a bunch of diawhateveramine type of ingredient though.
Yep, you may try that then.
hey man...quick question for ya...do you know of any shampoos in the US that have claryfing functions?is tea-tree sold in the US?thanks
Hey brother , You can find paul mitchell tea tree shampoo/conditioner over at CVS pharmacy. im not sure if you have any in st.louis. Another brand wich is cheap is herbal esscence. They have a clarifying shampoo as well. Suave has a clarifting shampoo too. Ans if im not mistaken , pantene pro-v has a silicone free clarifying shampoo. My best bet would be paul mitchell........hope this helps
I do not know of "Tee-Tree" in the US. But the shampoo (available through a salon) called "Matrix Essentials Clarifying Shampoo" seems to work very well. Costs about 13.00 for 16.9 Fl Oz.
I've found that Dove seems to work very well for me and I've liked the results since trying it recently. It doesn't leave my hair as dry or frizzy as John Frieda or any other product I have used so far.
Hi, sorry for the late reply :).
I'm sure you can find the Joico range in the US. You may also try Suave clarifying shampoo (though I personally have not tried it before).
The cheapest way is to use Apple Cider Vinegar, simply mix it with water in the ratio of 1:3 (Vinegar:Water), and rub it into your scalp. I resist using that method as I'm terribly put off by the smelll of vinegar :).
