Just wondering, do any of you have close friends, classmates or work mates that are also growing their hair? I have a friend in school that's growing his hair as well, and it's almost like a race since we have the same hair length but his is a lot straighter, and sometimes it feels like a competition! Personally, I think it's great when people around me are growing their hair, it really makes a statement about their personality.
By the way, this is Mihnea (started posting as Mick 2 days ago, but changed my user name to FireInTheSky to avoid confusion with another member using the name "Mick")
I'm the only long hair I know. All my friends and co-workers have short hair. My older brother (37) continuously grows his hair to about the akward stage and then cuts it. Truthfully, I'm glad he does. I like being the only one in my family (along, with friend, and co-workers) that has long hair.

Quite a few friends of mine have long hair too. It funny though, because some people think that we decided to grow our hair at the same time ; but it's years apart. If you want a quick count, I'd say 5 of my close friends have long hair.
Unfortunately, NONE of my co-workers have long hair. (a bit surprising, as I work in a lab and would think that at least some scientists would have long hair)
However, one of the guys in my golfing foursome started growing his hair out around 11 months ago and he's already wearing a ponytail--think he's growing it for the long haul and possible extreme lengths.

One of the guys in the lab has started to grow it a bit longer than I've seen it on him before, about halfway over his ears now--I noticed today after he had been away for a few days. It's far too soon to tell if it's a hopeful beginning of having one other longhair in the lab, or simply a false alarm. Maybe I should encourage him to grow it longer. (Unfortunately, there are 3 other guys in the lab with buzzcuts who will probably discourage him from growing it.)
Most of my best friends have long hair of some length from shoulder to waist length and that probably has something to do with them being alternative such as goths, punks etc. I have about three mates at my part time job who have long hair and theirs is are all shoulder length and currently growing out. Long hair seems to be rather uncommon of the town I live in as it's mostly retired old folk living there.
Tons of my friends have long hair (most past their shoulders). But that's because I hang out with metalheads mostly. :P
yeah, my buddy that's growing his hair in school is a metalhead. Sadly, him and I are the only metalheads in my school, except for 3 or 4 others, but they don't have long hair:P
I don't have any long-haired friends, in the strict sense of the word..unfortunately :(
However, I do have 2-3 acquiantances...2 co-workers and one classmate...so I guess that's better than nothing!! :)
I split a rental house with two other (large) longhaired guys. One has hair to about the bottom of his shoulderblades, the other has terminal-ish length Welsh curls. When we go to our friends' parties, there are more longhaired guys than gals.
