Me after hair has grown. Wow! What a difference.
Wow is right! It is great to see the transformation. Great job pushing through to long-hairedness. It is an inspiration.

Well, the strange thing about all this is that I still don't feel like I have long hair. Maybe it's because I've had short hair all my life. Actually, my hair is quite a bit longer than is shown in the after pic, but it still feels short to me. Very strange.
That's the problem with us longhairs-always wanting more!
Seriously though I often feel the same thing, as many others here do.
You are not alone :)
did you say you need a boyfriend (or girlfriend??) before?
Well, I have a boyfriend and he does hair. Seems like everyone that I have ever dated does hair. I just look at the diffrence between the two pics and it just amazes me. Well, the tan in the before pic actually made me look better, but being fair skined I figured that I better stay out of the sun so much.
I wish I can find anyone that does hair... currently any gays (however few) I have seen hates hair. I hope things will get better IF I move to Canada.
You will find someone. There are actually a lot of gay men that like long hair. I really don't care much for clubs anymore, but that is one way to meet other people. I just don't care much about drinking anymore. I guess I'm just too old to handle my liquor.
Well, I dont know where to find them because I dont have the time and energy for clubs... I am not even sure if clubs is the place to meet good people. Since im not going to school (at least not a physical school) or anything anymore I think I just about ran out of chance of meeting anyone.
Hi Jeffrey,
WOW! The length is CERTAINLY coming along--looks great! How long have you been growing it, and do you have a goal length?
I was also wondering if you are the same "Jeffrey" who repied to my post about MPB below? The Avadart medication certainly appears to be working--have you actually noticed an accelearation in hair growth after starting it?
All the best and keep it growing,
David
Hi there. Yes I'm the same Jeffrey and thanks for the compliment. My goal is mid back. I am failrly close now, but that will still take about a another year. I first started with Propecia and I took that for one year then when I read about how Avodart reduces DHT I decided that I would rather take that. About 3 years ago I was at my Mothers house and she said, "oh Jeff, you are getting a bald spot just like your Dad". Well, I went home and looked at the back of my head with a mirror and yep she was right. So that's what got me interested in MPB. My program has worked extremely well and today there is no thinning area on the crown of my head. I do have a receeding hairline, but I've had that since highschool. I should stress, however, that any program to prevent hairloss will take many months to see any results and even then the only results one may see is that he just gets to keep the hair that he has. A hairloss program takes a lot of dedication and I feel very strongly about using FDA approved products. Other products will probably just waste your time and money. It is a buyer beware market out there.
Hi again Jeffrey, a couple more questions
1. A picture showing the full length would be nice, especially of the back. Have you actually been able to grow new hair in the crown?
2. How long have you been growing it? Do you feel you are growing it at the normal rate of 6 inches per year or even better?
3. You mentioned a receding hairline. You seem to have good length bangs, well past the chin it seems from your picture. Has the Avodart actually slowed/stopped the receding hairline as well?
Thanks in advance for any replies, they'll probably influence my future decisions.
David
Hi there. The avodart has helped greatly in the crown area, however, it has only had a minimal effect on my receding hairline. It has made the edges of my receding hairline very fuzzy, but keep in mind that I have had a receding hairline for well over 20 years. I never really expected positive results there, furthermore, a receding hairline may be more of a mature hairline, rather than MPB. Almost all adult males will develop a mature hairline which will recede to some degree. Also, remember that I use Rogaine which may speed up hair growth, nevertheless, I probably grow around 1/2" per month, pretty much average. Rogaine stimulates the hair follicle, however it does not reduce DHT. At this time I haven't any pictures of my hair from the back and it might be a good idea for me to take a few. I have to leave in a few hours and I will be gone 5 or 6 days, but when I get back I will take a few pics. Jeffrey.
Thanks Jeffrey,
I have made an appointment with my family doctor (Wednesday, 13th), my assumption is that he will refer me to a dermatologist. From your posts I assume Avodart is better than Propecia (if indeed the decision to go the drug route is taken) I was wondering if one can "influence" which drug is prescribed? Also, do you have any advice what questions I should bring up with my doctor? I want to go to the doctor armed with the best possible information.
Thanks again,
David
Wow is right!! How long have you been growing?
