I got my last haircut around the beginning of March. I was wondering how often I should go and get a health trim, because some of the hair on the back of my head is starting to feel frizzy and dead.
Go when you feel the need for it. sounds like you feel the need for it. No one can tell you about this, because no one else is walking around in your hair.

I wouldn't cut it at all, that just slows down progress and risks making things uneven, etc.
If it's dry, you might need to change your grooming habits some. Have you tried conditioning it or shampooing the back of your head less frequently?

I actually just this week started to shampoo and condition it every other day as opposed to every day like i used to. I have seen a slight change, but the back hair still feels dry.
You might try oiling it with some jojoba or sweet almond oil (a little bit goes a long way). I've been experimenting with that for the past week because of some dryness and it's making the back area of my hair much softer. I don't know where you're from, but in my area it's been cold and very dry lately, so that certainly isn't helping matters. It may take some experimenting to find the right routine for your current hair length and climate.
