I've been using biotin for about 2 months now. First, I started on the recommended 600 mcg a day, but after a month, I didn't see results. After I switched to 1.2 mg, I've definitely noticed a difference. My hair is growing healthier and thicker than it ever has. I've only been growing it out since the end of Dec. 2000 and in 4 months, I'm at about 3 inches. That's pretty fast for me.
I only wish I could compare it to 4 months without Biotin to see the difference.
I have very thick hair and am a rookie at this sort of thing. Should I shampoo and condition every day? I;ve heard different things from everyone. I'm currently using Infusium shampoo and conditioner as well as a leave in conditioner EVERY DAY. Someone please let me know if this is going to dry my hair out and give me a good shampoo schedule for keeping my thick, sometimes frizzy awkward stage hair tidy.
Thanks all.
I'm a rookie, too, but my practice (at 8 months) is to wash my hair every other day. I use a variety of shampoos that run the gamut from God-knows-what's-in-'em leave-the-hair-feeling-great products to all-natural-and-biodegradable leave-the-hair-feeling-...-ok products. The days I don't shampoo, I just let the water rinse and wet my hair.
I follow up either with one of two products: Flat Out or VO-5 Sheer Hairdressing. For some reason, I use Flat Out on the freshly washed hair and the other on the merely rinsed hair.
Skipping two days is something I can't quite do yet.
