On one side of my face, my beard hair seems to comb backwards in a very swirly manner while the other side seems to fall nice and perfect in a straight manner. Its only about a centimeter long, but one side looks very out of place...so whats a good way to keep training it, or product to use? I want to pound it into submission basically, but I dont feel this is quite the same as trying to do the same to 10+ inch long hair.
Just keep combing it with my hand? Gel? Face products? This is a weird question I know. I've seen some formidable beards in pics here and I know there are dudes with some experience here.
I'd be interested to see what others have to say here, but here's my experience with a similar facial hair growth pattern.
The hair on my cheeks grows out in opposite directions so that if you look at the hair it almost appears that I am caught in a whirlwind! I have found a few things over the now 20+ years that I've had facial hair.
1) Very short almost masks it work--but you've got to have pretty dense facial hair for this to look good. Otherwise it just looks like you don't have enough facial hair to grow a beard.
2) You might get away with very long. After a while the weight takes over. There's a long awkward stage in between. I don't like very long on me.
3) You might get more uniform patterning out of a goatee. That's been my solution. For the last few months, I've been allowing me goatee to grow without cutting it. It's probably now longer than it's ever been, and I notice a very slight effect of the swirl pattern on the left side, but it's probably only noticeable to me because I know it's there.

Yeah I have the same thing with my beard. My beard is like 5 cms now and I´ve stoped having problems with it. Maybe you just need to grow it longer? :)
