I would love to order something but I am on a very tight budget, so tight I gotta be real careful spending even one dollar. I can order next month but I hope it won't be too late cause the shipping alone is gonna kill me... is there some kind of deal I can go through?
You say you are on a very tight budget, but that perhaps you can order something next month...is there some kind of deal I can go through?
I believe the shoppe may continue and so save up your money! We will be adding even more new products, some of which may be more reasonable in price.
Remember, CafePress gives you a WHOLE MONTH to return something if you do not like it...and they will give you a refund if that's what you want.
Some of the items are rather expensive but you can always look for something that you can afford.
Thanks for wanting to support the Gift Shoppe which inturn will help to support the Hyperboard. And if you have any good ideas for things to sell in the Shoppe, please let us know! You sometimes come up with ideas that we might just use!
Thanks!
Yea, but for a 13 dollar item where shipping alone is also 13 dollars it is rather worthless for me to return anything unless it is of significant value (over 150 or so)
I will see what I can do however... next month and on I need to save up and I can spend 60 dollars AT MOST. I also have other things I might have to get so I dont know, but if the gift shop is going away forever then it looks like I gotta act now...
I need to add some more RAM to my computer though cause its going really slow these days....
$13.00 for shipping is high'
Here are other choices for shipping:
5 Flat Shipping* 5-6 business days(from shipping date) is only $5.00 for up to 5 items
Check this out:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/help_shipping.aspx
So if you don't need the stuff right away, you can get a good deal on slower shipping.
I don't think you need to spend $60. because nobody I know spent that much.
Why not start off with just one or two items, and later you can get more.
The Gift Shoppe will be around for longe than we first thought. Don't worry about it.
you gotta realize that I am not in the USA and shipping to the other side of the world STARTS at 13 dollars.
Well, do they offer slower, less expensive forms for overseas shipping? If they do, perhaps it would be worth the wait.
I will look into this and see what I can come up with. $13.00 is a BIG turn off I must admit. No wonder some members didn't buy anything.
Perhaps we can have CafePress change its choices of shippping to something less expensive?
Anyway, I hope you can get something from the Shoppe that won't cost you too much.
Hey Luckskind,
Well at least you tried and the shipping of $13 is not that bad. With the exchange rate of almost $2 to the pound for some of us it works and well worth thinking the opportunity.
Regards,
John.B
But I thought they were offering a flat shipping fee of only $5.00!
Perhaps if you select a SLOWER form of shipping it will cost less. Express is the most expensive. Priority is less so.
Justin did not pay $13.00 for his order. Unless a person is in a rush to get something it is
better to select a less expensive form of shipping when possible.
I paid only $5.oo for shipping!!
That's great! And I'm sure there are bargains for International shipents as well.
For those who need to place international orders, please take Justin's advice and contact CafePress for advice. They may also be
able to help you with taxes, duties, etc.
I just got my mug today!!60 bucks is a lot...I didn't even pay half of that lol..
Great display Luckskind of fabulous items! Thanks for posting this.
I have read comments below about shipping costs and want to share my experience with Cafe Press:
1.)I ordered a Sweatshirt which is of the best quality I have ever known. I love it! (Tag inside shirt says Haines.) No junk here!
2.) There is a Flat Rate shipping charge of 5.00 as I recall no matter how many items are purchased. (This is for the US and I "think" Canada as well.)
3.) From the time I ordered it took one day short of a week to arrive. I couldn't believe how fast they are at processing orders. All arived in perfect condition.
4.) It is so hard for me to believe that they can work as quickly as this because EVERY SINGLE ORDER PLACED is "hand-done" for just that order. Amazing!
5.) And, to top it off, they sent my Sweatshirt to me with a 5.00 off on ANY future item purchased with no time restricted limit put on it.
It is little wonder to me now why they are such a success. I have even called them on the phone and questioned them about certain things. NO MECHANICAL VOICES HERE........NO WAY! You get to talk to a "real person" who treats you like a king and doesn't try and hurry you off the line for another call. Their number is toll free and they want to make themselves easily available at all times for everyone.
A breath of fresh air for a change compared to most other business in todays world.
I was truly impressed to say the least.
Justin~

This is just to show you that there ARE choices in shipping. If you are willing to wait a little longer, you will save money on shipping.
Thanks for your interest in our Gift Shoppe!
Thanks for posting the detailed shipping options.
One additional expence, though, for which the shop is in no way responsible is the Country of Import's tariffs and taxes. I've paid $30 before in tariff and taxes on a game that cost $40 (in addition to the $6 shipping I paid)! (I later found out that the tariff would have been included in the shipping (for some loophole in importing legislation or something) if I had opted for the $10 Air shipping method....live and learn, die a nd forget it all.
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
I found out that if I avoid UPS or other private carrier I pay no tax on anything... even on a 250 dollar item. For some reason common carrier shipment are taxed by the book and post office shipments rarely gets taxed.
I second what Tai Fu said as that happened to me as well.No tax if shipped through postal service but I ordered jeans from an online store in Sweden which shipped UPS and the carrier sent me a bill for duties and some brokerage charge which totaled $25.00! The strange thing was this was my second order through that store as the first one shipped and I never was billed for anything extra. What ticked me off was that I payed a hefty shipping fee to the vendor so I felt they should be resopnsible for the duties.Oh well I never paid UPS anyway since they sent my package and the bill later.Guess we'll see what happens....
Use the Postal Service and taxes will not be charged.
I need to add this depends on country! Now some countries might take random samples and charge taxes by randomly checking various postal package and the reason that all common carrier shipments get taxed is because they REPORT to the custom and must do so before it will be cleared. UPS will pay the tax for you so if you refuse the package you still gotta pay them for the tax. I have seen some other countries like UK or other EU nations where taxes are billed to the reciever when a postal package is delivered. So it depends on how bad your government need money...
If you have a "tracking number" you can put it into the Google search bar, and Google will figure out which carrier it is for and give you the info. This works for anyone sending you stuff, not just Cafe Press.
Bill
Thanks Bill, I will have to give it a try!!!
to simply call Cafe Press at their Toll-free number and talk to one of their wonderful staff members in person for any question you may have to do about anything. I guarantee that you will be treated as Royality! They are the nicest people to talk with and do everything they can to please far above any business that I have known of in my dealings with them.
All is really so simple. Just focus-in on your own specific question(s) and most likely you will be very pleased. For all I know they may even take an order over the phone (which I seem to remember they can) as well as accept MO's sent to them as well.
Their mailing costs are really so reasonable compared to what others would charge for the same.
It really is just so easy.............and it is fun learning all kinds of things at the same time with such a delightful staff.
Of course there IS a way out of having to pay a shipping fee. Pick your item(s) up at Cafe Press yourself in person. But then again, the cost of gas is hardly cheap these days so it might run you over 1,000.00 or more to get there. LOL
With the price of fuel at present, their shipping fees (which also accounts for an invoice and hand packing) is really such a bargain.
So far not one single person who has ordered has had a single regret. If anything, the person has been amazed at everything!
But for now, why not just sit back and enjoy looking through the Shoppe at some of the really neat items available.
Enjoy! :-)
Then, Justin, HITCHHIKE! Of course, your food budget for the two day trip down here will be limited to five dollars. As a longhair, though, people who pick you up are apt to have dope in the car, and people with dope tend to have lots of munchies. They also tend to share what they have with fellow longhairs. [wink]
Have a NICE TRIP!
Bill
