I had grown my hair out to just over my ears and was really wanting to grpw it out to a bob, but the heat really got to me. Before I knew it I was at the barbershop getting a flattop with shaved sides again. Can any one suggest a way to cope with that in-between stage?
It sadened me to read that you had a great bob going only to buzz it off. I have a nice bob myself below my ears with bangs and I love it. Just to make sure we are on the same page, is the heat you are referring to temperature heat or pressure from others? That will make a world of difference.
In response to bobbed guy's question. It was the outside temperature. I'm really not the type of person who worrys about what someone else thinks about my hair. But it got up to 90 degees, and I was a sweaty mess and uncomfortable.
Sonny, I think that you should try the bob style that I have. My hair is cut one length just below my ears which leave my nape exposed. I have my nape clippered. That allows your nape and neck to stay coool and you can still have a wonderful bob.
Bobbedguy, thanks for the advice on the hairstyle you described. It does sound neat. If I ever can figure out how to grow out my hair that long without geting to hot that's just the way I would like it, a short bob, maybe angled slightly with a buzzzed tapered nape. In the meanwhile however, this buzzed head feels pretty good. My wife keeps asking me if maybe I should just shave it completely. At this rate my bob isn't looking like its going to happen very soon.
