Something just struck me. Many of us are posting pics of our growth, and it's often impressive! This should make us happy! So why are the poses so serious? Even my few, pathetic, cell phone pics are serious. How 'bout we lighten it up some? Maybe some pics that show a little more joy! I, for one, love my long hair!
Just a thought
Lon
Hi Lon,
I know we ALL love our long hair! I know some guys don't like the looks of a "forced smile", it looks too artificial, hence the serious looks on a lot of the updates. I plan to update in January, and as long as it doesn't look too "phony", I'll try to remember to smile!

I'm not very photogenic, so I don't tend to smile much in photos. Plus, I don't like the look of me smiling in pics - looks more dramatic when I'm serious.
My new blog (with more pictures)
Well, I think guys likes to look a bit intimidating and "cool" in pictures of themselves. Personally I have a hard time faking smiles so I just go for the blank/grumpy face.
Just because we aint smiling doesnt mean we aint happy!
as a few people said, its hard to smile in photos, so I Go for the Mean and Moody look, Especially as Seen in My Sabbath Roadie Pic! Posted here! infact this is my favorite pic of me! shows the hair off great, Smile or no Smile!
best pics of me smiling are when im unaware of a pic being taken
Rock On \m/ \m/
Yeah it's the exact same thing for me, i don't like smiling in photos too often.
For me i never smile in pictures. Never have, never will.
Also I look like a dork when I smile.
Just because this tank is too far away from my home to go there just only for taking progress pics :-)
Smile, Adalbert
Hi Adalbert,
good to see you're having fun - great picture! Hope you have a great week before Christmas, and, of course a phantastic Christmas, too. Best wishes across the Oder/Odra!

Well, I dunno. Perhaps because we are seriouse about our growth? And I think I agree with Ozzy, just because we aren't smiling doesn't mean we're not happy.
This pic is a pretty wild one of me doing a hybrid between Angus Young and Gene Simmons. lol
can you see my avatar pic?it's everything BUT serious..:P
On my part, I can't manage to get a good forced artificial smile ^^.
Also taking a picture, while trying to keep the camera still and horizontal demands a little concentration ^^.
Usually in pictures of me, taken by other people, I smile :P
If I use the self timer my pics always look fake, but at least the non smiling pics I take myself don't look nearly so bad as a picture where I try to smile and nobody else is there, that is just too weird and it shows in a stupid pic lol
Only way someone else can get a smile out of me that doesnt look stupid is if they can get me to forget I am in a picture.
Unfortunately I usually decide to take progress pictures at the spur of the moment and then I end up using the self timer
My partner is always after me to smile more than is natural for me when he takes my picture, and that rubs me the wrong way a bit. So I can end up with a big but unnatural smile.
Maybe it is a guy thing, like some of the others in the thread here have said, not to smile too much, and big smiles on a guy can look fake. The best photos of me are ones that were taken as a surprise, when I had no chance to think of making an expression. They come off happier than any expression I can intentionally make.
