In martial arts class tonight we did a few spinning techniques, and I felt the amazing sensation of my hair flying out to the sides as I spun around. Its only around 3 to 3 1/2 inches long, but what a difference it makes! I didnt even notice anything when we did some spinning kicks back in November. Just wanted to share. Growing hair out seems to be a series of surprises.

I hear you, Mouse.
Only recently have I ever been able to feel my hair move when I shake my head. I can sometimes almost catch it out of the corner of my eye (without pulling it straight).
I am looking forward to feeling it on my shoulders someday.
Thanks for regularly posting.

I can sometimes catch it out of the corner of my eye as well, especially in the morning when it's all over the place. It's cool and weird all at the same time. :-)
Good luck with your end of semester concerts!

When my hair got long enough to get into my eyes, it started getting bad. It sounds like you're doing a striking art, so you'll just have to wait until you can get it in a pony tail. For grappling, I had to put a hair slicker over my ear guard to keep it all in place. Can you say "extreme over heating"?
I had to quit a few months later, but I don't know what I'll do when I start back up. Maybe I'll just switch to a striking art too. =P
The instructor's pretty laid back so I hope he'll be okay with me wearing a bandana to keep it in place for a while once it starts to get annoying. But I could certainly imagine that it would be more obnoxious to grapple with it!
Good luck getting back into martial arts.

Before you know it you will be able to put it back in a ponytail! :)
