After struggling with frizz for a while now, I have found some simple techniques. The first is to brush the hair back completely when it is dry along the entirety of the scalp and then try parting it. This will allow one to find a "natural part" easier. And amazingly enough, I've noticed less frizz than when brushing the crown when it is usually parted. And don't forget the fundamentals. Frizz is essentially short hair that was broken off through either hair damage, weak cuticles, tangles, or improper brushing. It particularly exacerbates itself in people with naturally curly hair since straight haired people can usually get it to lie down.
And of course when brushing your hair always hold it from above so if the brush snags a tangle, you can prevent a strand from coming out at the root. Remember the goal is to have less hair come out in the brush.
