40 inches
Hi Red Tail Wolf, it is possible that I have the longest hair of all of the MEN here. I am also one of the oldest men here at 53 years old. My longest MEASURED shed strand was 44 7/8". My hair ties into a ponytail 40" long.
Measuring from my front hairline over the top of my head and down to the ends it measures 55". (This is the method used on the women's long hair forums.)
Elizabeth Regina, who is standing next to me, almost certainly has the longest hair on the board. It is possible that this photo shows the longest hair for both male and female on the board.
There are other guys with super long hair here too. Ed G. and Hair Religion, are you out there?

WOW very impressive. I don't think my hair will ever be that long! You both must have amazing genetics! Envy here....I'm just going for terminal length which will probably be soon . I'm 4 years in with a 4" bluntcut last month to even things up. Any tips on how to get longer or am I confined to my genetic mAke-up? Again I say WOW!!!!!!!!! Eat A Peach For Peach For Peace!

I got mine at 23 inches.
I recently reached knee-length. I'm 5'8" tall.
There are a number of people with extremely long hair who post here: Absalom, Trolleypup, Hair Religion, Bruin, Elizabeth, and myself. Any of these guys (and girls!) would be in the top 99.9th percentile of the population.

Hi Ed. It looks like you may be the guy with the longest hair here. It is a close call. The only way to know for sure is to attend one of our longhair meets. We had one last August. My hair almost reaches my knees as you can see in the photo, but I am about an inch taller. It is good that you are just letting it grow now instead of trimming it along your waistline.

I measured 55 inches using the TLHC method. We have exactly the same length hair!

My hair is gradually becoming shorter even though it has not been cut or trimmed in many years. I used to shed strands up to 37" long, but the longest shed strands now are less than 33". The dry weather in Phoenix may be causing my hair to break more easily. I rarely see split ends, but I do break a lot of hair strands. It's just about impossible to measure my mane by myself using the other measurement methods presented above, but I would guess I'm probably somewhere around 40" to 42".
I'm not part of this group but another interesting piece of info from the real long hairs is how close to terminal they think they are--is their hair still getting longer? Maybe they could indicate if they think they could achieve even more growth. This could indicate if anyone could accomplish floor length in the future!

My longest shed hair is about 42", by the women's board measurement, I am at 53"...about 2 inches behind Absalom.
I am at terminal, if I trim, it grows back to 53" at 1/2" per month. My braid taper is very even.

Well, I'm "cheating" in this pic a little bit (by tilting my head back); but it was taken back in '05, though, so it's fairly close to accurate by now...
I'm not quite up there with the likes of Asalom or Trolleypup or Ed. G or Victor; but one of these days, maybe I'll at least come "close"!
