A couple shots I took outside just a few minutes ago here in Denver. We're supposed to receive 15-20 inches by tomorrow.
I can tuck my hair behind my ears!
Not really an update, but I thought it'd be kind of fun to share. =)
Later!
-James
Just think wonderful thoughts of all that snow hitting Minnesota as well, okay. ;-)
And being able to tuck the hair behind your ears must feel nice.

James,
That is the only thing I miss from Illinois. Nice cold winters and lots of snow.
Mike
WOW, that's some snow!!!!! Although a little for Christmas is nice, I would not want that much! Here, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, there's still none, even a couple of golf courses were still open last weekend! And the hair looks great, you can tuck behind ears now, a great help for the awkward phase! Have a wonderful Christmas, and lots of new growth in the New Year.
David
Nice pictures! Snow is always late in the Netherlands (if we have any at all). When it does snow, it's always around january/february, so we rarely have a white christmas as no doubtedly you have had quite often. Enjoy ;)
Man it sucks to live down here in florida. It's summer all year long down here. Right now , It is about 82 degrees down here. The coldest weather we have comes in january and by cold i mean like 53 degrees. Yes....we consider 53 degrees cold. :-)
Same thing with Taiwan... but in winter it gets to about 11-10 C at the lowest and most the time its about 15-16 C in nighttime. What makes it worse is no heating and its always raining and wet and cold... I know it gets colder in Texas but its kinda dry...
No heating?
Taiwan rarely uses heating because it only gets cold 3 months out of the year and even then it's not that cold. It is hot (and humid) from april all the way to december. The concrete buildings most of us use here is better for summer because for some reason concrete building feels cooler but it is really bad for winter. Some people have space heaters but those aren't standard. In fact Air conditioning isn't standard either and some tried to live without it to save electricity but I cant because I prefer cold weather to hot weather...
Wow, that is usually what Michigan looks like but we have not had any snow yet. I think that you have all the snow this year.
Good luck getting around tomarrow James, be carefull.
Great snow! I like when we get snowed on here in London, Ontario (And not just because one of the entirely bussed-in schools at which I teach occassionally gets snow days).
The 28 - 30 inches we recieved a week and a half ago (even though townships even 1/2 hr away got a mere dusting!) has been all melted away for some 5 days! Crazy weather.
Good thing you can get the hair out of your face...you'll need to concentrate on lifting the hundreds of pounds of snow off your driveway, not wiping hair out of your eyes.
Keep on growing and keep on snowing.

Hi James,
That is amazing. I live in central england (the midlands) and we rarely see snow and nothing like the pictures you've posted here, it just gets really cold, rainy and foggy most of the time. My uncle who is a roadie went on tour with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in 2004 which meant traveling to New York in the middle of December. He said the snow was so thick there that they got snowed in to their hotel. I've never been to America so I've never experienced the weather, so thanks for posting some interesting pictures.
It's great that you can tuck your hair behind your ears, it helps during times when your writing etc. It also is another confirmation that your hair is getting longer.
Happy holidays,
Neil
Haha! My sister lives there and they are making a local move the day after Christmas. I hope that doesn't mess up their move. We haven't had anything near that in the DC area since 1996, IIRC.
Hey James - So you're Watchin' it snow and Watchin' it grow!!!! I sure miss my No. California mtns. Stuck in the SouthEast now and we never get (REAL) snow. Here they freak out if we get 1 - 3 inches. Enjoy for me - Bruce'ster P.S. congrats on the ear tuck.
Damn dude, I haven't seen snow in at least 6 years.
It's so pretty . . .
Right now it's around 60F outside here in the most dull place on earth, Florida.
JeffL
I love snowy pictures, we just don't get that over here as Neil said, it would be amazing to have that for christmas, but I guess you get fed up with it the same as anything.
Except growing your hair of course, you can't tire of that! and it looking great by the way.
Ah, very nice! I love snow and I love when it´s hellishly cold. Furious winds tossing you around in minus 20 degrees celsius when biking to work.
Makes you feel alive.
Wow! Do I ever miss winter! Here in Tucson AZ we're have a cold snap with lows in the upper 20's and highs in the 50's. People here are freaking out! It's not even cloudy and the people getting on my bus are complaining that I don't have the heat on high enough! It's kinda funny to see parkas, gloves, and ski masks when it's not even cool enough to see your breath. =D I haven't owned a snow shovel in 20 years, and my last ice scraper was still under the seat of the car I brought here from Colorado when I sold it.
Congrats on the ear tuck! I just got to that point 2 weeks ago myself!
Oh, wow....*speechless*
Those snow shots are very pretty, especially, when the snow is blanketing the cars (although their owners probably don't think it's very pretty at all, lol). I really miss snow, as I experienced it for the first eight years of my life in Ohio, before moving back to the homeland in the Caribbean. I believe I've only seen snow once since then, and that was when my diabolical neices pelted me with it like markswomen. Oh, the evil. The irony is that my college is in Florida, so I STILL don't get any snow when I'm in the U.S, although places like Tampa apparently get frost and flurries from time to time.
You guys are quite lucky to have snow, regardless of how annoying it might be. Just remember that some of us never get it at all! Wouldn't it be great to have our own personal weather machines for situations like this? We could turn Florida into the new Yukon, and actually skip class because of snow days. *adds to list of diabolical things to do*
heh, peace
In California, in effect we do. It never snows by the coast, but it gets many yards deep in the mountains. If we want snow, we can drive up to it.
The pic is of me twelve years ago, just as I was starting to grow my hair out. I was standing on snow four feet deep, about two hundred miles northeast of here. The lake in the background is where the Donner party camped in the 1840s. They got caught in so much snow that they got trapped there for the winter, and for food they began eating each other.
Bill in San Francisco
Yes, that's one of the things about California. You can just about
drive to whatever type of weather you want.
Yeah I'm familiar with the Donner party. Shouldn't have read
this post right before lunch. ;)
.
Yeah, they do, which was surely nice for the Donner party since they no doubt used the picnic tables to eat their relatives on. [wink]
You know in Taiwan it never shows but when a cold air mass comes in from China and Siberia, people crowd the mountains for snow... and there are lots of mountains in Taiwan.
Thank you all for the responses. A bit of an update... the entire city essentially shut down yesterday afternoon, including the airport, malls, city governments, and all the freeways in the state. Looks like today will be pretty much the same. It's still snowing and we've definitely gotten more than 20 inches (more like 25 or 30 in some places). Needless to say, I'm not going anywhere, even though I probably wouldn't be able to anyway since my car is back in Indiana. Oh well...
Here's to hoping the furnace pilot light doesn't go out. =)

Amazing pics James, I love snow for December around Christmas but then I want it all to go away for Spring. Last few years we don't really get any at all though here in Maryland.
Congrats on the hair, hope it is well behaved and stays where you put it :)
oh, I love snow like that!!!of course, you'd have to put up with the cold, but I think it's well worth it!!for the eye candy...:)
Here in Australia we have christmas in the summer.
We have seen pictures of the bilzzard on the T.V here, so it must be quite bad it it makes the news here.
By the way your hair is looking great.
