.....all I did was leave the desert and visit friends on the Texas/Louisiana border!!
When my hair, which is thin, fine and past my shoulders, hit
that humidity it just poof'd, frizz'd, curl'd and set on top of my ears !! So I planted a fishing cap (...quite the vogue there...) on top of the whole mess and let it do its thing. Didn't look bad, but sure looked short...HA!
Good to be back home.

So now we know why you live in the desert, long haired vanity :)
You looked fine that way too, if not so long a mane.
Did I miss something?

I have no idea what you mean. I suppose you trimmed your hair? Perhaps you hid it under your hat? Please explain..I am curious. Sorry if i am not a perceptive person.
This post was meant to be a lighthearted jab at my own vanity. Humidity generally makes fine hair like mine curl. Curly hair will always appear shorter and in my case going from the dry desert to the humid south, the appearance change was significant. Looked about 4 inches shorter than when straight. Guess my sense of humor is a bit off-beat.

I got it instantly. I guess that graduates me from an Old Fat Fart to an Old Off Beat Fat Fart. Thanks, Walter!

Oh great well I got it too so now do I gotta join the OOBFF society (well minus the fat) lol
Thanks a lot both of you ;)
I know what it's like when humidity hits! When I used to straighten my hair (I haven't now in 3 months), it used to look longer, until I stepped outside on a humid summer day, when whoosh!--back came the waves and curls and a shorter look. It's only normal that waves/curls make the hair look shorter. Your hair is obviously naturally wavy/curly.

I know exactly what you mean. Driving a truck I go from hot to cold, humid to arid. When I go to El Paso, or Albuquerque my hair does just fine other than that darn wind whipping it around, however, when I go to Miami, or New Orleans my hair usually becomes a tangled mess, especially in the summer.
Does that mean if I visit the desert that I will have straighter hair? I've never been west of Texas where the air's really dry...That would be interesting!
Now, you know what I deal with all the time.
