I finally got my parents to let me grow my hair! They said that i can grow it to my shoulders. It's been growing scince January. My hair is thick/wavy. How long do you think that it'll take me to grow it?
How long it will take depends a lot on how long it is now. Plan on being in the "awkward" stage for at least a year, maybe closer to 2.
Hopefully its longer-than-average right now, so it'll look good pretty soon. Its that first year that's really a pain. At least you're starting young... that helps a lot! A grew mine nearly down to my waist from age 20-28, but cut it off :-( Then I re-grew it down to the middle of my back from age 29-34. How I wish I had kept that first 8 years of growth! Might've been down to my knees by now (which is what I really want).
Good luck to you!
Mine has grown to this length (from military short)in one year. Good luck, Take prenatal vitamins, and don't give up!

Good going Mike! Once its to your shoulders youll want to keep growing it!
Heres how I did it: I had a skater's cut for a couple years. Id go get the neck and lower sided buzzed , but secretely I wanted super-long hair. Once the bowl-shape was down to about my chin, all the way around, I stopped getting the buzzes! Since I'm half-Asian my hair is straight and black, no split ends. At chin length it was in my face ALL the time but it grew real quick so its now down to almost the middle of my back (I guess youd call it the bottom of the shoulder blade area)..Makes a great ponytail or its well behaved loose.
Again, I'd recomend the skater's cut to start. But if theyre not popular anymore (theyre not around here anymore) you'll have to start with regular short hair which will take MUCH longer.
See ya
Justin
I did something like that a bit a few years ago.
I started the first year by having only the back trim and let the rest grow - it was something like a page cut.
Then, once they were all of the same length I simply let them grow. Now, after two years of care they are in the mid of my back and I am so proud of them - they make a great ponytail.
My only regret is not to have let the front hairs grow from the begining so they are shorter than the rest now.
Anyway, the important is to make the decision and to be commited to it.
Good luck
Yours
Jean
hey viking what should I do if my parents will not let me have long hair. I want it really bad. Do you have any ideas on how they will let me. If so please tell me a.s.a.p.
How did you get your parents to let you grow your hair long? I want to grow mine really long but I think if I ask them they will say no. What should I do.
