I don't know about you but I'm seeing images of this famous longhair all over the place at this time of year. :-)
I seem to be seeing the same guy everywhere as well! Merry Christmas to you.

One of my favorite!
That's a great outfit you're wearing, Elizabeth, and that looks like a hospital in the background. It looks like you were bringing a little seasonal cheer to people who really need cheering up.
Thanks, Alun. My father asked me to be his elf again this year to distribute stockings at a low-income preschool in Fairfax, Virginia. (This would be a good time to mention I am back in town for a bit.) The building the school is in also has a senior center and we decided that a stop there should be included next time. I'll pass the compliment on to my mother, she made my costume. Originally my father wore it with a green painted face as The Grinch.
I helped him on with the beard and long hair wig. For no apparent reason he decided not to cut his own hair until August of next year and already has 8 months growth. Salt and pepper hair trying to peek out between long curls on the wig is not the best look for Santa. I hadn't realized he'd gotten long enough to pin up. Luckily it doesn't take much to convince a three or four year old. Of the 50 or so kids we saw there it was neat to see one of the boys had hair almost to his shoulders.

It's great that your dad is growing his hair out too. I can't imagine my dad wanting to do that, and my mum wouldn't like it if he did.
We just got an e-mail from another family that we know who all have long hair, with a picture of all of them. Their son has longer hair than Andrew does, but I can't tell how long it is from the front. He used to have a waist length bright red mullet, when he was maybe about eight. I guess he's a teenager now, and I can see that it's no longer a mullet.
I'm a fan of colored hair so either natural red or vivid dye must have been a sight to see. I see longhaired families occasionally and it makes me wonder if their boys are more likely than the general population to want long hair or if they just have a better chance than average to be permitted long hair.
How long is Andrew's hair these days?
