I can't believe it, my wife gave me a gift card to a hair salon.
It's kinda insulting actually, but it is good till 12-07.
Now all i'm gonna hear is "Are you going to use that card?"
I guess a even up trim might be in order by summer.
Ha Ha thats very funny as it almost seems like she is trying to drop a hint or something. What I would do with that card is just go to the salon and buy some of the product they usually sell there.Say some conditioner or shampoo as you don't have to get a cut if you really don't want to.That way you would have used the gift card and not cut your hair and your wife will be happy because you used her gift.Problem solved!!!Anyway a very Merry Christmas to you.Mark
I agree. Use it for other stuff at the salon unless you really feel like you want a slight trim. You have a year to use it, so who knows?
Mouse
i'ld go to the salon have your hair put into a french plait, then when you get home from the front it would look like you had your hair cut, then you could turn around lol
I'd go and get a dusting trim and a deep conditioning treatment. Why not let yourself get pampered?
I just had an appointment Saturday...my hair looks great for the holiday (and that makes the wife happy!)
give her a gift card to the gym :)
Well, it says right on the card "haircut only" so I can't use it for any products. I think she thought that's what I would do is buy some conditioner.
I am just about 100% out of the awkward stage, and she had said it was looking better.
I will use the card in about 6-8 months for a good evening up trim. She never ceases to amaze me.
Later,
Chris
Ah, Chris.
My wife might have done the same if it had crossed her mind. Just the other night, she lovingly looked into my eyes and put her hands through my hair and said, "You are so cute...Just imagine how handsome you would be if you had a nice clean haircut and maybe shaved off this beard...Ah. Whatever happened to the handsome man who waited for me at the end of the [wedding] aisle?"
WHAT!?!
I laughed it off and suggested she get a time machine because that man exists only in the past. She is usually silently tolerant, and may even occasionally acquiece when a friend of hers gives me a compliment and asks if she agrees, but she is not a devoted fan of my decision, to be sure.
Well, my friend, it is our choice to grow hair. Her choice is to love us as we shoose to be or leave us. (And if we know they wouldn't be so rash, just make sure you are sweet in other areas to help keep a happy home: Extra chores tossed in as a surprise; extra niceties randomly given....no deals, no buying your right to grow hair...just a little extra grease from you to keep the whells turning nicely despite a bit of grit in the gears, so to speak.)
But, back to your issue...
Imagine...how would a wife/girlfriend respond to our giving the unasked prompting for changes in their appearance? What would the response be if we gave them the gift of a free breast augmentation certificate? A membership to Jenny Craig? A tub of meal replacement shake mix? The answer can range from lukewarmth to outright hostility.
It is an odd double standard, isn't it? I guess that, since we are men, we are expected to suck it up and get over it? Anyway, hope that yours was a peaceful and pleasant holiday, despite.
Ciao for now.
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Hi Shawn,
LoL, Yea' some women are unpredictable. She says that she likes it after about 1.5 years of saying she hated it and then gives me a haircut voucher?
I don't get it.... Yesterday at Christmas dinner with family they were looking through picts of previous Christmas's and she kept saying how my hair looked so great back then.
That can be her time machine then.. LOL.
Hmmm, A membership to Jenny Craig?. You have a point there and I think it is a great idea, but I know she would never let me slide on that one. :)
Later,
Chris
Hi Chris,
did she ask you whether you'd want to trim your hair? If not, or, if she knew that you are growing it out, then I'd do as stated in the subject line - with NO TRIMS, NO LAYERINGS etc.
Hope your wife loves you "just the way you are" without trying to "improve" you...
Keep it growing!
