Hello all.
As I am on vacation (teachers get some nice vacation time -- even if we put in the hours during the school year to pay for them -- and, since I am off, I haven't been doing the "wet, condition, pat with towel, add defrizzing agent (or extra conditioner), and finger style and shake" routine. Instead, I've simply been tying a bandana underneath the groth at the back and letting the curls sneak out of the holes in the back. I am really liking this style. (Too bad that I can't wear it to teach like this.)
Just thought I'd share.

Hey Shawn... looks cool! It pairs well with your beard. Every now and then I think about getting a bandana and trying it out. Only one way to see what it looks like on me... ;)

When you do try it, post a pic or two and let me see what it looks like with longer hair. (Even with my fairly short hair, I've found less tangles, less wind trouble, less maintenance (heck, if I tighten the knot a bit before bed, I can even sleep with the thing on!)...just make sure to change it regularly so as not to get too much hair oil on your forehead...otherwise you are asking for a breakout, whatever the age.

I agree with the others - that's a pretty cool look for you. Although you can't wear it to work, you can have it as your weekend look!
Bandannas were a major staple of my wardrobe during the awkward stage for me. Unfortunately I don't have any pics handy right now. I really liked wearing a bandanna, but most people I knew didn't like it. Not sure why... jealousy perhaps? ;)

Very cool look indeed. I agree with the other posts in that it looks great with the beard. Good for the weekends even when school is back in session, and I bet it will be really nice this summer.

Unfortunately, unless it is a 'silly hat day' or something there is no head wear allowed in school for either teachers or students...(though I often see girls fetting away with bandanas as a hair styling implement...maybe once it gets long enough, I'll see if I can use that card.)
