TLHS was the first website I encountered (around 1996-1997) dedicated to long hair. It was the forerunner of many other long hair sites, including the MLHH. TLHS will be missed.

Wow. I never spent much time there, but since it's going away I decided to look it over some. The guy who runs the site has some things in common with me: We are both EEs and we were both born in '68. He's even about the same height. Haha, he shaves his head though. Kind of ironic.
Thanks, Ed.
Hi
Im Sorry to here the site is closing down yeah it will be missed!
All the Best
Axel
Thank you for mentioning Frank's site here, Ed. The hyperboard has been mentioned there from time to time and that is how I found my way here several years ago so I'm certainly glad for that.
I'm going buggy since I can't remember my login for the guestbook there and I've got a post of huge gratitude to make before it goes away at the end of this year. By far and away the best result of my time spent on that site dedicated to long hair on women was to fall in love with a fellow poster there. I got a longhaired fiance out of Frank's and befriended a bunch of other longhaired guys as well as women so TLHS will always be close to my heart.

Sorry to see that. The big corporations have been absorbing so much of the stuff on line lately that few independent sites such as TLHS and MLHH are still around. [sigh]
Communities can last for generations, but most hobbies for an individual only last a decade or so. A major motivation in putting MLHH in the hands of a committee drawn from the community was to insulate it somewhat from someday facing the situation that is now befalling TLHS.
I've seen several other groups fail because of owner burnout, and so often they do like TLHS and just throw off the switch, caring not at all whether anyone is willing to pick up the pieces and go on. We saw that with the Dognut site for gay longhairs. One day the owner just turned it off, and thereafter he refused to discuss why. Or give anyone else the data to carry on with it, so it was just gone. So typical, and so sad.

The writing was on the wall when Frank got married. Few married men have the time to do a site like that after they are married. Marriage takes A LOT of time and dedication to make it work
Plus, few wives would allow their husband to continue a hobby of taking pictures of other female's long hair and running a Web site to post them.
Too bad he doesn't pass it on to someone willing to take it over. There will probably be another similar one created sooner or later to take it's place.
When the LHC was left out to dry by the original creator, someone else took the name and ran with it. But the same will happen again to the LHC some day, since only one person owns it. She'll tire of it some day, or get greedy like the owner of LHL.
Too bad about the TLHS. But I'll bet one of the long time members won't let that community just fade away........
