i've got some questions:
1.) Is it normal to suddenly feel like you hate washing your hair with shampoo??? I hadn't shampoo'd my hair in like 2 weeks, then when I did again, my hair gave me BIG problems....the biggest one being the hair being tangled out of nothing...i started combing it several hours after the wash...and the tangling was horrible. Is it ok to have your hair without shampooing?? What about when it starts smelling bad??
2.)I've started taking multivitamins. Do they really help your hair grow a bit faster?? Is the extra growth per year worth it? If so, about how much more does your hair grow? And there's 100% Zinc on it but only 15% Biotin...should i take an extra biotin supplement to help even more??
Sorry, it was kind of long, but i would really appreciate it if someone answered my questions.

Hi Gio,
first, if you can keep your hair from smelling without shampoo, you can just use plain water or conditioner instead. Maybe you need to use shampoo only "once in a blue moon", and that's how often you should use shampoo if that's the case.
second, yes, if you take B-100, add some biotin (5-10 mg; DO NOT combine with undercoked or underfried eggs), some zinc (20-60 mg), folic acid (5-10 mg) and (if your thryroid gland is not overfunctioning) some iodide (200-400 micrograms). You'd need all those TWO TIMES PER WEEK only. If you notice improved growth or less shedding, keep going. If you do not notica any effect after a few months, stop spending money on vitamins.
Hope that helps.

Hi Gio,
I think Hans has given you excellent advice regarding the vitamins. Regarding shampoo, I find I can get by on two a week, any more, my hair is too dry, less and my hair is greasy. Make sure you condition after every shampoo, and "conditiner only" washes on the off days does not hurt. You may need to experiment with shampoo types, I use a shampoo designed for dry/damaged hair. Hope this helps, and all the best.

I don't know a thing about vitamins, so my suggestion re. that question is to talk to someone who is an expert in proper nutrition. But, re. shampooing and conditioning, I have several thoughts to share...
First, although I am aware of the fact that many people here prefer to go for long durations without shampooing, or even go as far as to use water-only, I am NOT one of them. The maximaum # of days I have ever gone without a thorough washing of my hair I think has been 5. But... I always, ---- let me repeat --- i ALWAYS use TONS of conditioner afterwards!! In fact, I go through more conditioner than I do shampoo! I doubt I could get a comb through my hair if I didn't use so much conditioner! (Although I've read that some of our regulars here de-tangle their hair after it's dry, and a few even go without using conditioner... again, I'm NOT one of them!)
Everybody is different. And everybody's hair-type is different. And everybody's personal situation, life-style, job, recreational activities, etc., are all different. I do a lot of gardening / landscaping jobs, for example, --- which means I can get dirt, manure, fertilizers, and a great variety of plant material in my hair. If I went for 2 weeks without shampooing, nobody would want to be around me!!!
Between shampooings, I do one or more of the following: 1) dry-brush my hair; 2) rinse my hair in the shower with just water only; 3) rinse my hair in the shower, but also add conditioner at the ends (lower half of my hair); 4) apply beneficial oils into my hair ends (Kukui nut, Almond, or Jojoba oils), which helps prevent split ends (which are a BIG contributor to tangles).
I also recommend NOT buying any of those "shampoo-&-conditioner-in-one" products. Get a good quality shampoo than makes your scalp feel clean and refreshed, and then follow up with a lot (and I do mean, "a LOT") of conditioner on your hair afterwards (including OK to leave some of it in your hair, --- although I don't leave it on my scalp).
And if you discover you have a lot of split ends... I find that a comb will literally slide right through your hair, once you trim those ends off.
Hope this helps!

Now there's a real man. Belt length (almost) hair without using vitamin, just add manure . . . . . . . . .
I'm almost afraid to ask what you brush your teeth with!
Cod liver oil mixed with garlic paste. Then I gargle with expired milk.
(And to think I would wonder why nobody wants to kiss me good-night!!)
