Was hanging out in the LSU union the other day when these very attractive girls walked up to me and they started off talking about my hair (how they liked seeing long, well kept hair on guys and hair maintenance). One of the girls said i should try hair dusting. Being the guy that i am, i didnt mant to sound stupid so i didnt ask what it is, but only nodded and agreed.
Does anyone here know what i should use to dust with, or if i should do it at all?
Thanks,
clayton
Sorry to say, but I have never heard of this before. I would think that just the wind outside would dust ones hair.
Perhaps use a "Feather Duster?" (Of course a brand new one only for use on your hair.............not furniture!) LOL
Best solution of all: ask those girls what brand(?) they use.
Hi Clayton, dusting usually means removal of split ends. The process is quite simple, you examine the ends of your hair and when you find a split end you snip it off with a pair of sharp scissors. Usually only 1/4" needs to be snipped to remove the split. This amount is so small you will never notice it. Removal of splits will reduce tangles.

haha, never heard of this. I googled around a bit, and saw 3 possible meanings:
1. put a little talcum powder in it to make it less greasy. this doesn't sound like a very good idea.
2. put a lot of talcum powder in it to make it look grey for halloween. probably not what they meant.
3. trim split ends. yes. one site actually referred to this as dusting, I guess because that's kind of like a cleanup. If your ends looke a bit frazzled, maybe that's what they meant.
I would recommend asking "what do you mean?". It sounds like it could have been a good conversation starter. Bonus points for being a guy who's willing to learn from a woman. And you're in college... with I could have those days back.
Thanks guys!
I dont think they were refering to split ends as i check mine daily and remove at once and they were actually fingering through my hair looking quite closely. They would have seen at most 3 or 4 as it has been a few days since i checked due to my surgery.
Good news is that i now have an excuse to talk to them again.
thanks again guys
peace,
clayton
One more option is a microtrim...dusting in this case would refer to the "dust" of very short trimmed hairs on the floor. Usually, dusting refers to trimming split ends.
Possible they are seeing some damage on the very tips of your hair, not actual splits...the hairs may be bent or have an odd texture, or be cracked internally, so they will split soon.
Anyway, it is certainly an opening for further conversation...heck, might lead to them playing with your hair (if you don't mind being objectified in this way)
Good to hear that the magic still exists in the LSU Union; I had more than one enjoyable encounter in that same building a few years ago (I have a lax definition for "few")!
Just proves once again that girls dig guys with long hair!!!!!!
