Been growing for a while, it's not at 9 inches at its longest. I always wanted to spike it for a day, just to be crazy/stupid. I remember using this weak sorta gel a long time ago in the past, but I wouldn't imagine it holding up my hair. I have heard of people using ELMER'S GLUE to spike hair. At first I thought it was a joke, but then I realized they were serious. Will this damage my hair? I want it to stay healthy.
Don't do it ! It will damage your Hair !
No, it won't. They probably use wood glue or carpenters glue. Normal white elmers would probably be too weak. It will look nasty, too. If you will be twisting the spikes to form then then you should try shaving cream, it may or may not hold depending on hair type. Hair spray over it will help. I recommend beeswax or Murray's pomade, though, it will hold up anything, no twisting necessary but that looks better anyway. Have fun.
elmers glue will not damage your hair. and it is strong enought to hold but if you are still worried about it you can always go to a wig shop and get some dax wax that will hold all day and will not damage your hair because it is made for hair.
Oops, I meant "now at 9 inches" not "not at 9 inches."
Thanks for the advice, anyway :)
i use elmers glue to spike my hair, ive been doing it for about 6 months now, i dont see any damage in my hair. my hair is about 5 or 6 inches long and the glue hold the spikes better than any other gel i have ever used.
